Chapter 312: Power Shift
August and Sharon were ashen-faced, blood draining from their faces as they collapsed into their chairs in shock and fear. The servants and family doctors present lowered their heads even further. At that moment, it became clear to everyone that a seismic shift had occurred within the Graham familyโthe lady of the house had changed.
Helen was promptly escorted to a room in the back of the house, where the door was closed and guarded by two motionless bodyguards. Meanwhile, August and Sharon were escorted out of the Graham Mansion by the servants.
In the back seat of the stretched Rolls-Royce, Sharon and August sat with expressions beyond uglyโthey were ferocious. Sharon clenched her fists, repeatedly pounding the dashboard, her eyes blazing with fury.
โIโm so angry! This woman isnโt just formidable, sheโs enchanted Fraser and now has Helen locked up! Could it be that all of the Graham familyโs assets will eventually be snatched away by this wretched woman, Summer!โ
After venting, Sharon turned to August, โAugust! Say something! If the Graham family ends up under her control, Iโd rather it be ours!โ
August scoffed, โYouโre upset, but what can your frustration do? You know what kind of man Fraser is!โ
Sharon knew too well; Fraser appeared laid-back and casual, but beneath that demeanor, he was ruthless and heartless. Realizing this, Sharonโs spirit deflated. She pounded her hands in frustration, her voice weak with desperation, โAre we just going to watch Aunt Helen be imprisoned and this woman take over the Graham familyโs wealth?โ
A sinister look flashed in Sharonโs eyes, โAh! I canโt stand it! Does that woman deserve this?โ
A cruel smile curled on Augustโs lips. โImpossible! The annual corporate meeting of the Graham Group is coming upโฆ Sharon, you should meet each elder and shareholder of the Graham Group. At the meeting, theyโll put pressure on Fraser. Even if he insists on having his way, he surely canโt disregard the entire Graham Group. If thatโs the case, weโll move to another plan and let Helen take power! Aunt Helen has already lost faith in Fraser, and then, wonโt our family be in control?โ
Hearing this, Sharon finally felt a surge of relief, a smile breaking across her face for the first time today, โYou always know what to do, August. Hahaha!โ
Back at the Graham Mansion, in the dining roomโฆ
Fraser had the servants leave. The dining room finally fell silent. It was as if the recent turbulence had never happened. Now, it was just Summer and Fraser alone.
Thinking about the harsh words she had blurted out earlier, Summer felt uneasy and stood up from her chair, โIโฆ I need to head to the office.โ
As she turned and was about to step away, Fraserโs hand swiftly encircled her slender waist and pulled her down onto his lap, enveloping her in his strong embrace. He picked up a bowl of birdโs nest soup from the table, his posture regal as he spoon-fed her.
โYou havenโt eaten anything yet. Have some breakfast before you go.โ
Summer took the soup spoon to her lips and after finishing, glanced up at him briefly. His handsome face remained calm, his long eyelashes casting a shadow over his deep, obsidian-like eyes, as if nothing had happened.
Fraser caught her cautious gaze, his voice casual but deep, โWhat, is there something on my face that you keep staring at?โ
Summer looked away, her mind replaying her earlier words. Now Iโve really cemented myself as the woman who climbed the ranks by leveraging her child. Thinking it over, she felt the need to explain. โEarlier Iโฆโ
Fraserโs gaze deepened, intensely fixed on Summer as he gently touched her soft hair, his voice carrying a hint of indulgent amusement, โYou did great earlier.โ
Her eyelashes fluttered slightly at his words. She had indeed stirred the Graham family into chaos once again.
โFraser, Helen is still your grandmother. Donโt you think Iโฆ went too far?โ
Fraserโs expression didnโt waver; his eyes were cold. Helenโs attempt to strike Summer was also an attack on him.
โShe hurt you, and I gave her a chance.โ
He finished feeding her the birdโs nest soup, spoon by spoon. Setting down the bowl, his long fingers lifted Summerโs chinโฆ
His voice was serious, โSummer, remember, no one can bully you, not even me. Actually, I was pleased earlier; youโre learning to fight back.โ
