Chapter 298: The Final Decision
The next moment, Xavier climbed into the nearby Rolls-Royce. He saw Fraser lying there, his face pale as paper, not a trace of color on his lips. A surge of fury erupted from Xavierโs chest. He felt like he was going to explode.
Still, he quickly opened the medical kit, pulling out a scalpel, bandages, and various antiseptics. His movements were fast and precise, all traces of his usual playful self gone. His expression was stern and focused. Without hesitation, Xavier took the scalpel and cut open Fraserโs black shirt. A heavy stench of blood filled the air.
The knife wound on Fraserโs shoulder was deep and jagged. Blood continued to drip from the reopened gash. Xavierโs brows locked together, but his hands moved steadily, rewrapping the wound. Fraser never made a soundโnot even a groan.
โYou need to be hospitalized,โ Xavier said. โDid you hear me? The wound nearly goes all the way through your shoulder. Itโs already on the verge of infection! The stitches tore openโyou need to get them redone immediately!โ
Fraser kept his eyes closed, his voice flat. โSay another word, and get out.โ
โFraser!โ Xavier rarely called him by name. But this time, he was furious. โAre you trying to die?โ
โI saw the press conference too. Once youโre stable, talk to Summer and explain everything.โ
Fraserโs eyes finally opened. A tear slipped into the corner of his mouth, his gaze bleak and lifeless. โSheโs hurting. I donโt want to leave her alone anymore.โ
Xavier let out a long sigh.
Chapter 298: The Final Decision
The president of Graham Groupโpowerful, proud, untouchableโcould have wanted any woman he desired. But he had fallen, completely and utterly, for just one.
In the car, all Xavier could do was give him a basic patch-up. The injury was too serious to treat fully here. Once he finished, Xavier packed up the medical kit and got out. He turned to Mike.
โIf anything happens with Mr. Grahamโs shoulder again, drag him to the hospital if you have to.โ
Mike glanced at the man inside, still and silent. โIโฆ I donโt dare.โ
Xavier frowned and snapped, โWhat, are you gonna wait until his armโs useless before you grow a spine?โ
Summer parked the car, got out, and told the security guard at the gate something before heading into the house. Julia, sitting on the sofa, immediately stood when she heard footsteps. Seeing Summer, her eyes welled up.
โYouโre home.โ
โLeona, get dinner ready,โ she called out.
โYes, maโam,โ Leona responded, bringing out dish after dish from the kitchen. Julia looked Summer over from head to toe. Her complexion was clearly off.
Earlier that afternoon, Julia had come home and turned on the TVโsheโd watched the entire press conference. Sheโd been furious and heartbroken. If she hadnโt been in dangerโฆ that conference wouldโve cleared everything up. Now, not only was everything still a mess, but rumors were swirling about Summer and Lucas.
But once sheโd calmed down, Julia had thought it through. With the Graham family being so complicated and Fraserโฆ
Chapter 298: The Final Decision
Still, she knewโfor now, doing nothing was the best thing she could do for her daughter. Julia let out a sigh.
โSummer. Iโm so sorry. This is all because of me.โ
Summer reeled her thoughts back in, not wanting Julia to blame herself.
โMom, itโs not your fault. Even if it wasnโt you, theyโd have found another way to target me.โ
Juliaโs face darkened with frustration. โThat old witch from the Graham familyโฆ I swear, if I had the chance, Iโd kick her into a coffin myself! But we canโt do anything. To her, our familyโs nothing but ants. She could crush us without lifting a finger.โ
Summer looked at her mother, then calmly laid out the plan sheโd made on the way home.
โMom, didnโt you say you finalized the house in Oblistan last week? Go ahead and move in over the next couple of days. Once Iโve wrapped things up here, Iโll come join you.โ
Juliaโs eyes widened in surprise. Up until now, Summer had seemed hesitant. She thought her daughter had changed her mind about leaving Havenbrook.
โYouโve decided to leave? Youโre sure?โ
Summer gave a small nod, her expression steady. Julia looked like she wanted to say something more, but just then, a maid entered and quietly reported:
โMaโam, thereโs a Rolls-Royce parked at the front gate. Itโs been waiting there for about an hour.โ
