Chapter 263: Siennaโ€™s Evil Plan

Sienna wrapped herself in a robe, wincing at the pain as she stepped away from the bed. โ€œMr. Philip,โ€ she began, her voice dripping with false sweetness, โ€œI know you want to one-up Fraser. But getting your kicks from me alone canโ€™t be that satisfying.โ€

Philip was lounging on the sofa like a king, idly scrolling through photos of beautiful women on his phone while smoking. He barely looked up. โ€œOh? Do you have a better idea?โ€

Sienna hid her disgust with a coy smile. โ€œWhat if you could have Fraserโ€™s ex-girlfriend? Sheโ€™s way prettier than me.โ€

โ€œEx-girlfriend!โ€

Sienna had pieced it together: Summer going to prenatal appointments alone, the fatherโ€™s name left blank. The only explanation? A falling-out with Fraser.

โ€œYes, his ex. Fraser wouldnโ€™t lift a finger for her now. But if you had herโ€ฆโ€ She leaned forward, her voice a venomous whisper. โ€œThat would mean youโ€™d really taken what belonged to Fraser.โ€

Philipโ€™s fingers stopped on his phone. Seeing his interest, Sienna quickly pulled up an old photo of Summer. The manโ€™s eyes darkened with hunger. โ€œDamn. She is gorgeous.โ€

Siennaโ€™s lips curled. โ€œI can arrange to have her delivered to you.โ€

Fraserโ€™s yellow Vertex growled to a stop in front of the Stewart mansion. From the driverโ€™s seat, he surveyed the lighted windows, then dialed Summerโ€™s number. Busy tone. Again. He texted her. A red exclamation point appeared. โ€œMessage failed. Youโ€™ve been blocked.โ€

Fraser laughed, low and dangerous. โ€œWell played, Summer.โ€ Without hesitation, he called Mike.

โ€œMr. Graham?โ€

โ€œCall Summer Stewart.โ€

โ€œSir,โ€ Mike was questioned. โ€œDo I need to repeat myself?โ€ Mike understood immediately; Boss had been blocked.

Within minutes, Summerโ€™s phone was buzzing. Annoyed, she answered, not wanting to disturb Julia. โ€œMs. Stewart,โ€ Mike said politely, โ€œMr. Graham is at your gate. He says if you donโ€™t come out, heโ€™s going to break in.โ€ Summer was speechless.

Minutes later, Summer emerged in slippers, a gray cardigan thrown over her white nightgown.

Fraser frowned. Grabbing his tailored suit jacket from the passenger seat, he stepped forward and draped it over her shoulders. The material swallowed her petite frame. โ€œAre you trying to freeze?โ€ His voice was harsh with disapproval.

Summer didnโ€™t flinch. โ€œSay what you came here to say and leave.โ€

Fraserโ€™s mouth twisted. โ€œTeh. Still fiery.โ€ But when she didnโ€™t soften, his amusement faded. He cupped her face, forcing her to meet his gaze.

โ€œSorry. Iโ€™ve been dealing with my grandfatherโ€™s funeral arrangements all week. You ignored me. It was the only way.โ€

Summer turned to leave. In one motion, Fraser wrapped his arms around her waist, his chin dropping to her shoulder. His grip was unbreakable. โ€œI havenโ€™t slept in days.โ€

The scent of gardenias clung to her skin. He inhaled deeply, his exhaustion bleeding into the embrace. When she didnโ€™t pull away, Fraser turned her to face him. His thumb brushed across her cheek.

โ€œLook at me. Donโ€™t I deserve one ounce of compassion?โ€

Summer averted her eyes. Fraserโ€™s voice fell, raw and rare. โ€œSo cold to me. What did my grandmother say to you that day? Causing you this. Hmm?โ€

Summerโ€™s breath caught. He knew. โ€œSummer,โ€ his fingers tipped her chin up. Moonlight caught the intensity in his gaze. โ€œHer words are not what I mean. Give me time. After the mourning endsโ€ฆโ€ His next words were a vow, โ€œWe will be married.โ€
