Chapter 251: Xavierโ€™s Hospital

Julia looked at Summer and said seriously, โ€œAnd Summer, since youโ€™ve decided to cut ties with the Graham family, you should stay away from Fraser from now on.โ€

Summerโ€™s eyes flickered slightly. After a moment, she slowly nodded.

After dinner, Summer washed up and lay in bed, planning to read a little before sleeping. A book on pregnancy guidelines sat on her bedside table. Suddenly, her phone chimed. โ€œGoodnight.โ€

Ever since finding out she was pregnant, Fraser had been sending her goodnight messages every day. Summer had never responded. Tonight, as she stared at the message, she felt a little dazed. Juliaโ€™s words from earlier echoed in her mind.

Summer tapped into WhatsApp and opened the manโ€™s profile. Her finger hovered over the โ€œBlock Contactโ€ button. She stared at it for a long time. Taking a deep breath, she was just about to confirm when her phone suddenly rang. Without thinking, she answered.

Yvetteโ€™s voice came through the line. โ€œSummer, I know someone whose hometown has really fresh, organic produce. I bought a bunch of organic vegetables and free-range chicken from her and sent them to you.โ€

Summer said, โ€œHow much weight are you planning to make me gain?โ€

โ€œThe more, the better. You canโ€™t starve my godbaby. Summer suddenly remembered something. Your birthday is in two days. Why didnโ€™t you mention it?โ€

In the past, Yvette always threw grand birthday parties, and Summer never missed them. They always celebrated each otherโ€™s important milestones. But this year was different. These parties were always loud and lively, and now that Summer was pregnant, it didnโ€™t seem like the right environment for her.

Yvette had thought about that too. โ€œThis year, I plan to sneak back at midnight to blow out the candles with you.โ€

Summer didnโ€™t want to dampen Yvetteโ€™s excitement. It would be rude for the birthday girl to leave halfway through. She smiled and said, โ€œIโ€™m pregnant, not crippled. Iโ€™m not that fragile. Iโ€™ll come celebrate with you for a bit, but I wonโ€™t be able to stay until dawn this year.โ€

Yvette was thrilled. โ€œSummer, thatโ€™s great! You just need to be there when I cut the cake. I wouldnโ€™t want my godbaby staying up late anyway.โ€

After chatting for a little while, they hung up. Summer looked at Fraserโ€™s WhatsApp again. She didnโ€™t block him. She simply exited the app.

Two nights later, Summer arrived at Yvetteโ€™s party. The club was a blur of neon lights, dizzying colors, and deafening music. People danced wildly to the pulsing beats. Feeling uncomfortable, Summer quickly made her way toward private room 505.

Just then, she bumped shoulders with a man in a floral shirt. Xavier looked up and immediately recognized her. โ€œSummer, what are you doing here?โ€

Seeing it was him, Summer answered simply, โ€œMy friendโ€™s birthday.โ€

Hearing that, Xavier raised an eyebrow slightly. โ€œThat pretty actress? What room is she in?โ€

These rich playboys always had a habit of hitting on any beautiful woman they found intriguing. Summer didnโ€™t want to entertain him. Then, a thought struck her. โ€œWaitโ€ฆ how did you know I was pregnant?โ€

โ€œThe hospital where you scheduled your abortion belongs to me.โ€

Summer pieced everything together instantly. It was Xavier who had tipped Fraser off. Her expression darkened.

Xavier said, โ€œI just thought the father had a right to know.โ€

Summerโ€™s tone was indifferent. โ€œYouโ€™re his friend; of course, youโ€™d take his side.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not taking sides. But maybe you should stop and think how Fraser has really treated you.โ€ Seeing her lost in thought, Xavier casually added, โ€œOh, by the way, you asked me before about the girl in Fraserโ€™s office photo. Did you ever go check for yourself?โ€

Summer remembered. Back when she was in the hospital, she had asked Xavier, โ€œWhoโ€™s the girl in the photo in Fraserโ€™s office?โ€

That memory resurfaced, and she lowered her eyes, speaking slowly. โ€œFraserโ€™s pastโ€ฆ has nothing to do with me anymore.โ€

With that, she turned and walked away. Xavier watched her slender figure disappear around the corner, lost in thought. Just then, a waiter carrying a fruit platter passed by. Xavier stopped him and asked, โ€œThereโ€™s a celebrity birthday party tonight, right? Which room is it in?โ€

The waiter assumed he was just another crazy fan and kept his mouth shut. โ€œSorry, we canโ€™t disclose guest information.โ€

Then, he quickly walked away. Ha. First Summer, now even the staff are guarding against me? Did they really think that just because they wouldnโ€™t tell me, I wouldnโ€™t be able to find out? Xavier remembered that Fraser had invested in this club.
