Chapter 204: Power Shift

When Summer walked in, the first thing she saw was a woman in her forties, wearing a sleek designer dress, sitting on Jasperโ€™s lap. She was holding a spoon and feeding him when the door opened. Startled, she flinched and dropped the spoon into the bowl with a sharp clink.

Jasper frowned. โ€œYou barge in without knocking? Where are your manners?โ€

Summer shut the door behind her and stepped inside. Jasper patted the womanโ€™s shoulder. โ€œEvelyn, give us a minute.โ€ Evelyn stood up right away.

Summer gave her a quick glance. โ€œSo this is the woman youโ€™ve been sneaking around with? Youโ€™re really divorcing my mom for her? Transferring all her assets too? You really went this farโ€”for someone like that?โ€

Jasper hadnโ€™t expected Summer to come at him so directly. His face darkened. โ€œSummer, this is between your mother and me. Stay out of it.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not here to get involved,โ€ she said coldly. โ€œI just wanted to see how shameless you two really are.โ€

Jasper snapped, โ€œIโ€™m still your father. Show some respect. You should be calling her Ms. Evelyn.โ€

Summer laughed. โ€œYouโ€™re not my father anymore.โ€

Not long ago, Jasper had begged Summer repeatedly to introduce him to the Graham family. But she ignored him and kept pushing back, challenging his authority every step of the way. Left with no choice, Jasper had gone to Madam Graham himself, only to be told the Graham family didnโ€™t even recognize Summer as Fraserโ€™s girlfriend. So what was the point? A daughter who disobeyed and had no value to offer was useless now. Thatโ€™s when Jasper finally turned on her.

โ€œSummer, I still think of you as my daughter. If you behave, I can arrange a proper match for you. Youโ€™d still be the Stewart familyโ€™s heiress.โ€

Summerโ€™s smile was cold. โ€œIโ€™m not interested in being the Stewart family heiress.โ€ She took a step forward, holding out a document. โ€œBut are you sure youโ€™re still chairman of Stewart Group? Because as the companyโ€™s majority shareholder, I have the right to remove you.โ€

She tossed the signed share transfer agreement onto his desk. Jasperโ€™s face went slack. For a second, he didnโ€™t seem to understand what she meant. He frowned and picked up the paperโ€”then froze. As soon as he realized what it was, his face went ashen. The truth hit him full force.

โ€œYouโ€”how do you even have this? That stock wasnโ€™t yours. I only gave you 30 percent!โ€ Jasperโ€™s voice shook as he stared at the document. โ€œSummer, you forged this, didnโ€™t you?โ€

Summerโ€™s expression didnโ€™t change. Her voice was calm, almost cold. โ€œWhat part of this doesnโ€™t look legit to you? Come onโ€”โ€

Jasperโ€™s mind suddenly flashed back. A while ago, he had mortgaged 30 percent of his shares to secure funding for a major expansion. He planned to buy them back once the project paid off. How the hell did she end up with them?

The realization made his blood boil in a blind rage. He grabbed the glass ashtray from the desk and threw it at her. She flinched and ducked just in time. The ashtray smashed against the wall and shattered into pieces.

โ€œYou ungrateful little brat! Iโ€™m your fatherโ€”how dare you turn on me like this!โ€

โ€œI told youโ€”I donโ€™t have a father like you,โ€ Summer said coldly. โ€œStarting today, youโ€™re no longer chairman of Stewart Group. And if I remember right, the Stewart family villa is under the companyโ€™s name. So you, your son, and your mistress can pack up and get out.โ€

Jasperโ€™s face darkened, his expression almost frightening. The shock hit him so hard that he couldnโ€™t catch his breath. Evelyn realized what was happening and rushed to him, patting his back in a panic. โ€œJasper, are you okay? Donโ€™t scare me like thatโ€”calm down.โ€

Summer stood there, watching them with cold eyes. The office door swung open again. Harvey stood in the doorway, his face tight with anger. Heโ€™d only been out of the hospital for a few days. The moment he heard Summer was in the building, heโ€™d come upstairs ready to settle the score.

โ€œDad, what the hell is going on? And you,โ€ he snapped at Summer, โ€œhow do you even have the nerve to show up here? Youโ€™re not welcome at Stewart Group.โ€

Summer pulled out her phone, made a quick call, then looked right at him. โ€œIโ€™m here to make sure you, Jasper, and the rest of your family are out of Stewart Group for good.โ€

Harveyโ€™s face twisted in rage. โ€œYouโ€™ve lost your damn mind. What kind of joke is this? You think youโ€™re taking over? Donโ€™t even dream about it!โ€

Just then, someone knocked on the door. It was Alexander Roberts, Director of Stewart Groupโ€™s Legal Department. Before coming here, Summer had already notarized the agreement. Alexander walked in, his eyes scanning the mess in the office.
