Chapter 185: The Unshakable Boss
Masonโs face was as black as the bottom of a burnt pot. He let out a cold, sharp laugh. Even if they won the bid, so what? I still had one last trump card. His eyes swept toward Sienna with a threatening glint.
In the conference room, the people who had mocked Aspira Design Institute moments ago were now utterly humiliated. After the selection meeting ended, James rushed over to Fraser, bowing and scraping as he apologized.
โMr. Graham, I truly had no idea that Luke had a problem. Our group ensured that this selection process was 100% fair, just, and transparentโฆ We would never manipulate it for personal gain!โ
Fraser, clearly uninterested in his excuses, lazily cut him off. His voice was cold as ice, carrying unquestionable authority. โBring him here.โ
The next second, Luke was once again dragged before Fraser. His legs trembled uncontrollably, his head hung so low it nearly touched his chest, and he did not dare meet the gaze of the powerful man before him.
Fraserโs chilling voice sounded above him, โSubjective, huh?โ
Luke froze, a bone-deep chill creeping up from his feet. His mouth trembled, but he could not force out a single word.
Fraser leaned lazily against his chair, then shifted forward. His long fingers held his phone, which he used to lift Lukeโs chin, forcing him to look up. With a half-smile, he said, โTell me about your subjectivity. For example, what kind of things donโt you like?โ
But under the suffocating pressure of the atmosphere, Luke felt like he was being strangled. His eyes darted around in panic before he suddenly dropped to his knees.
โMr. Graham, I donโt dare anymore! Please spare me this time. Iโll have no preferences ever again!โ
Fraser raised his gaze slightly, glancing over at James, who was standing stiffly to the side. โYou have two choices. He takes the fall, or are you going to take it? Your call.โ
Then, the man stood up, his long legs moving with leisurely grace as he strolled out. The conference room erupted with noise.
James, enraged, delivered a vicious kick to the kneeling Luke. โYou bastard! Youโve ruined my companyโs reputation!โ
Out in the hallway, Mason grew more and more furious the more he thought about it. Mid-stride, he suddenly stopped. His hands clenched into fists, his eyes filled with rage. Then, with a furious growl, he slammed his fist against the wall.
Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!
His assistant swallowed nervously, instinctively keeping a two-meter distance from Mason, just in case that fist turned in his direction. At the same time, Fraser casually walked past. His lazy gaze swept over Mason before landing on his clenched fist against the wall.
Standing tall and looking down at him, Fraserโs lips curled into a mocking smirk. โYour mother isnโt here, no need to show filial piety to the wall.โ
Mason flinched. Only then did he realize that his moment of losing control had been witnessed by Fraser. He quickly withdrew his hand.
โMr. Graham, I was just too emotional, nothing else. Please donโt misunderstand.โ
Chapter 165: The Unstable Boss
Mastin instinctively straightened his posture, wanting to explain further. But Fraser had already stepped away, walking off with cold indifference. As if he was nothing more than a trivial existence. Mason had been the general manager of the design institute for years. It had been a long time since anyone had looked at him with such dismissive contempt.
His brows furrowed tightly, and the anger burning in his chest only flared hotter. His assistant cautiously approached. โMr. Mason.โ
โGet lost,โ Mason spat. His eyes remained fixed on Fraserโs fading figure as he gritted his teeth. โBossman, huh! Fraser is only feared because of his privileged birth. Without his status, heโs nothing compared to me?โ
The assistant quickly nodded, flattering him. โExactly! If you had even half of Mr. Grahamโs background, youโd be far more successful than him.โ
Masonโs pulse darkened as he glared at Fraserโs disappearing figure. โIโll become stronger. Iโll crush anyone who stands in myโฆโ
Meanwhile, Merry bounced along excitedly, practically skipping as she spoke.
โSummer, youโre amazing! This is the first major project Iโve been involved in since joining Aspira Design Institute. Wait, Sienna, why do you seem unhappy?โ
Sienna suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked at Summer. After a moment of hesitation, she spoke with difficulty. โSummer, I donโt think I can take on the GloryPath Construction project.โ
Summer had not even had time to respond before Merryโs eyes widened in shock.
โWhat did you just say, Sienna! Do you know how much effort Summer put into this project? We finally won the bid. How can you just back out so easily?โ
Summer studied Sienna carefully. Ever since she had returned from the restroom earlier, something had seemed off about her.
