Chapter 150: Fraser Shows No Mercy to Josh
Josh had never seen Havenbrookโs notorious Fraser in person, but he had heard all the stories. Arrogant. Unpredictable. Fearless. Absolutely ruthless. Josh took a deep breath, squared his shoulders, and stepped forward, instinctively shielding Peyton behind him.
โMr. Graham, neither of us has ever crossed you. I donโt understand why youโre storming in here and throwing your power around for no reason.โ
Fraser lifted his gaze slightly, his icy stare slicing through Josh like a blade. The moment those sharp, narrow eyes locked onto him, Josh felt a terrifying chill crawl up his spine.
Fraserโs patience was gone. His voice turned sharp and cold. โSummer was kidnapped. Was it you?โ
The second Peyton heard those words, panic surged through her. โSo this is about Summer after all,โ she thought. She frantically shook her head. โNo, Mr. Graham, I was kidnapped that day too! Thereโs no way I could have been involved.โ
Joshโs face darkened, his expression tense. โPeyton is a kind woman, and I am one of the most respected doctors in Havenbrook and Ameros. We have principles. There is no way we would do something so despicable.โ
Fraser let out a cold chuckle, the corner of his mouth lifting in mockery. โMoral and principled, huh? You two seemed to be having plenty of fun in bed. Only a fool like Trevor would buy into that lie.โ
Peytonโs fingers clenched together so tightly they turned white. She could deny the kidnapping all she wanted, but Fraser had seen what had just happened between her and Josh. If Trevor ever found out, she would lose everything.
Fraser looked relaxed, almost uninterested, as he gave a slight nod. Ike got the message and immediately walked out. A few moments later, two kidnappers were escorted into the room, restrained by men dressed in black. Someone yanked the cloth from their mouths.
Both were covered in bruises, their faces swollen beyond recognition. Their clothes were shredded, barely hanging onto their bodies. It was clear they had been beaten badly.
The scar-faced kidnapper, now freed to speak, spotted Peyton and Josh and immediately panicked, his voice breaking as he cried out, โMs. Smith, Mr. Josh, you swore that if I did this one job, Iโd walk away from Havenbrook rich and safe! Weโre backing out nowโjust let us go!โ
The other kidnapper, a large-built man, nodded desperately. โWe donโt want any more trouble! Please, no more! I was wrong. I swear I was wrongโฆโ
Fraserโs face was dark and unreadable as he rose to his feet, his every movement exuding an icy, menacing aura. With a slow, deliberate step toward Josh, the air in the room seemed to drop in temperature.
Chapter 150: Fraser Shows No Mercy to Josh (Continued)
Fraserโs powerful kick landed squarely in Joshโs chest, sending him hurtling backward into the glass liquor cabinet. The impact shattered the cabinet instantly, glass shards exploding through the air like deadly shrapnel. Josh let out a choking gasp as blood gushed from his mouth. A brutal pain seared through his chest, making it feel as if his ribs had been ripped apart. His face twisted in agony. He tried to say something, but the thick, coppery taste of blood filled his throat, drowning his words before they could escape.
Fraserโs sleek Italian leather shoe pressed against Joshโs face. Not hurriedly, not forcefully at first. Then, with a cruel twist, he ground Joshโs face into the shattered glass below. The sharp edges tore into his skin, leaving deep gashes. Blood poured freely, staining the jagged fragments beneath him. Josh didnโt need a mirror to knowโhis face was ruined. And as a doctor, he understood better than anyone: no surgery could fix this. His skin was shredded beyond repair.
The two kidnappers, who had seen more than their fair share of brutality, instinctively swallowed hard. They had already suffered at this manโs hands once before. And now, because of the same woman, they had been dragged back into his grasp once again.
โAh!โ Peyton let out a shriek. She had never seen anything so terrifying in her life. Her body trembled violently, her stomach twisting in pain. Fear consumed her, and she cracked instantly. โI-I-Iโll talk! It was him! Heโs the one who did it! I had nothing to do with any of this!โ
She collapsed to her knees, bowing over and over as she pleaded desperately. โMr. Graham, please, Iโm begging you! Let me goโfor the sake of my baby!โ
Fraser scoffed, his laugh cold and merciless. โMs. Smith, that child has nothing to do with me. I donโt do mercy.โ
Joshโs heart shattered as Peyton threw him under the bus without hesitation. But sheโs the woman I love. And sheโs carrying my child. Iโll do anything to protect them.
Despite the pain that wracked his body, Josh clenched his jaw and forced himself to speak. โIt was me. I did it. Every last bit of it. Just donโt hurt my womanโฆ or my child. If you need someone to pay, take it out on me.โ
As soon as those words fell, the front door of the villa suddenly swung open. Everyoneโs attention snapped toward the entrance. Trevor stood there, his entire presence radiating pure rage. The lighting behind him cast his face in shadow, but his fury burned as intensely as a raging fire.
Fraser took one glance at the furious man, shrugged indifferently, and strolled forward at an easy, unbothered pace.
