Chapter 116
“The fifth one fits the idea of a family home I've always had in mind, but I can't get the third one out of my mind,” Hailey said.
“The third is perfect, but I'm thinking it might be too big for a family of five,” Hailey voiced her concern. “Two living rooms, a big kitchen, laundry room, dining area, seven ensuite rooms, two bathrooms, a theater room, outdoor pool, and a large backyard. I think it's excessive. Ollie and Enzo share a room, but eventually, they might want separate rooms. Plus, the kids would need a playroom, and the garden is perfect for outdoor parties.”
“I know it's spacious, but it feels like too much. I've always wanted something cozy and beautiful, something reasonably spacious.”
“Okay, how about we view the third and fifth ones? Then you can make your decision.”
Hailey smiled and nodded.
“So, about the wedding?” Cole adjusted his position to see her face better.
“What about it?” She blushed.
“When are you going to marry me?”
Hailey giggled. “You sound eager.”
“You got me! I can't wait for you to be my wife so I can do all the things I've been dreaming of with you.”
“Who says you can't do that now?” She pouted.
“I know I can, but I don’t want to spoil all the surprises.”
“Okay. About that… you spoil me too much. We need an agreement—one gift every two months.” Cole shook his head. “That’s not going to happen.”
“The goal is to make you smile every day, and I'll do everything I can to keep my word.”
“Your wedding gift is ready. I'm just waiting patiently.”
Hailey's eyes welled up. “Are you serious?”
Chapter 116
“Yes, baby!”
“Okay, now I feel like the worst wife-to-be.”
“You don’t have to feel that way. You don’t owe me anything, babe. I’m the one who needs to make it up to you.” He caressed her cheek. “So, when are you going to marry me?”
“I really want to get married before I start showing.”
“Which is?”
“In two to three months,” she answered.
“So, does next month work for you?”
Hailey nodded shyly. “The second Saturday of next month.”
“Where have you always wanted to have your dream wedding?”
“I don’t think it matters, babe. As long as our loved ones are there.”
“Plus, I know you want to give me the best, but I can’t ignore that your company is just recovering.”
Cole shook his head. “It’s true my company had financial difficulties, but that doesn’t mean I can’t afford to take care of my family. I have savings, investments, and even trust funds for our children. You have nothing to worry about. I’ve got you.”
“Greece or Italy?”
“Sorry?” She looked at him with confusion.
“I know they are your favorite destinations. I just want to know which you prefer so we can start planning.”
“Italy is fine.” Hailey smiled.
“Anything my wife wants, she gets.” Cole kissed her.
THE NEXT DAY
Nothing prepared Hailey for the crowd at the courthouse and the relentless questions from the paparazzi.

Chapter 116
The court proceedings began, and based on the evidence, Vanessa and Connie were found guilty on all charges and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Cole sat beside Hailey, holding her hand throughout the proceedings. They watched as the police officers led Connie and Vanessa, handcuffed and glaring at each other, out of the courtroom.
Cole escorted Hailey to her car. Once she was safely in the passenger seat, he got in the driver’s seat.
He was buckling his seatbelt when he saw Eric staring sadly and knocking on the window, along with the paparazzi. “Do you want to talk to him? He was watching you throughout the proceedings.”
Hailey shook her head. “Please, get me out of here!”
Cole drove away.
After what seemed like forever, they arrived home, and Hailey went straight to the kitchen. She got a glass of orange juice. Cole cornered her at the counter.
“You’ve been quiet.”
Hailey took another sip and put the glass down.
“A lot of things have been going through my mind.”
“Like?” Cole asked, possessively putting his arms around her waist.
“I’m trying not to be traumatized by what happened at the courthouse. I still can’t believe how evil some people can be. I know it’s in the past, and justice was served,” Hailey touched his cheek and smiled. “We can live our lives without worry.”
Cole nodded. “I’m sorry about the trauma. Let me take your mind off it.” Cole began kissing Hailey’s cheek.
She giggled, her nipples hardening against her bra. “Then hurry, because Debbie will be here soon. We have an appointment at the bridal shop.”
“My pleasure!” Cole scooped her up.
