Thea’s POV

I found myself floating in darkness again. This strange sensation wasn’t unfamiliar; months ago, hovering between life and death in the hospital, I’d experienced something similar. But that time, I could only hear the mysterious voice; this time, I sensed something different, something more complete.

“Is it time to truly meet you?” A smile involuntarily formed on my lips.

The darkness around me gradually dissipated, replaced by a soft purple glow, like a forest bathed in moonlight.

“Yes, Thea,” the voice answered, clearer and more powerful than before. “This time, you won’t just hear me, you’ll see me too.”

With her words, a silver-white light gathered before me, slowly taking the form of a wolf. As the glow faded, I saw her—a massive, elegant wolf. Her fur was an unusual silver-white with hints of purple, like a lavender field under moonlight. Most striking were her eyes—deep blue, as if containing an entire universe of stars.

“Holy shit…” I held my breath. Although my restored memories told me I wasn’t truly wolfless, actually seeing my wolf felt completely different. She was so beautiful, so powerful, nothing like I’d imagined.

“You seem surprised,” she said softly, moving toward me. “My name is Diana. I’m pleased to finally meet you, Thea. I know you have many questions.”

I reached out to touch her, hesitating at the last moment. “You really exist…”

She stepped forward, allowing my fingers to sink into her thick fur. Warmth instantly flowed through my entire body.

“As I told you before,” she raised her head proudly, “we not only inherited the Alpha bloodline of the Kincaids, but we were personally chosen by the Moon Goddess. We are special, Thea, one of a kind.”

“Special enough to warrant such a price?” I asked with a bitter smile, recalling my restored memories and all the pain that came with them. “You told me before that whatever I experience, there’s a reason for it. Amnesia, being hurt by Sebastian again, my life in shambles… is this the fate I deserve?”

Her deep blue eyes softened, yet remained filled with wisdom. “Everything you’ve experienced has made you stronger, Thea. Without these hardships and trials, you wouldn’t be who you are today. Think about it—without all this, you might still be that naive, selfish girl who was obsessed with a man who belonged to someone else years ago.”

Her words stung, but I had to admit she was right.

“People grow and change,” she continued, “just as Sebastian is changing, you’ve proven your growth too. Proven yourself worthy of the honor the Goddess has bestowed upon you.”

“But I feel like a fucking mess,” I confessed quietly. “All these memories rushing back at once, the happy ones, the painful ones—they’re fighting in my mind. I don’t know what to trust, who to believe.”

“Trust yourself,” she stated firmly. “You’re finally ready now. Your mind is strong enough to bear the weight of the truth and our power. Now, Thea, when you wake up, you’ll face what I promised before, a revelation you never anticipated.”

“What revelation?” I asked nervously, my heart racing.

“You’ll know,” she answered mysteriously, her form slowly fading. “Wake up, Thea, and face your destiny.”

I bolted upright, gasping for air like a drowning person finally breaking the surface. My senses were instantly flooded with countless inputs—sounds, smells, sensations—everything so clear and powerful, as if I was truly perceiving the world for the first time.

As I regained consciousness, I found myself lying on the bed in my old house. Jaxon stood nearby, while Sebastian knelt at the bedside, phone in hand, apparently about to call an ambulance.

The moment my eyes met Sebastian’s, something within me suddenly awakened, like a flame being ignited. An unprecedented, powerful pull formed between us, a soul-shaking connection established in an instant.

I realized what it was. Though I’d never experienced it before, I just knew.

Chapter 294

“That’s right, Thea. Sebastian and Orion are the mates the Goddess chose for us,” Diana’s voice confirmed.

I saw golden light flickering in Sebastian’s eyes—he clearly felt the same thing I did. So this was Diana’s revelation—Sebastian was my mate, we shared a destined connection. My heart nearly burst with joy and satisfaction. This was exactly what I’d fantasized about in my youth, dreaming endlessly at each mating ball that Sebastian would recognize me as his fated mate.

No wonder his wolf, Orion, always responded to me, and I—though unaware I had a wolf—was always drawn to Sebastian.
