Refusing to Let Go – 1

Aurora’s POV

I hated every fucking second of being in Sebastian’s house. Watching Thea act like she was still Sebastian’s wife made my blood boil. Seriously, amnesia? What a convenient excuse. I couldn’t believe everyone was falling for this bullshit.

What pissed me off even more was how Sebastian treated her. He was so attentive, so caring—like she was some precious treasure. That wasn’t the Sebastian I knew. The Sebastian I knew had spent seven years making her life miserable because she ruined what we had. He was mine. He’s still mine, and I refuse to let go.

When he yelled at me after I kissed him, I was completely shocked. Sebastian had never raised his voice at me before—ever. It made me wonder if he’d really cut ties with me. I mean, he did say he’d fallen in love with Thea, but I didn’t believe it. It made no fucking sense. He hated her and hurt her for seven years because she destroyed our relationship. How could he suddenly love her? It didn’t add up.

“Miss?” the driver called out.

I looked up, realizing we’d arrived home and Mom and Roman had already gotten out of the car. They were fawning over that bitch like hungry puppies. They even wanted to hold her bastard child. Not to mention how quickly they fell in line when that little shit Leo told them off, as if his opinion mattered. What the hell happened to them?

I stormed into the house, ready to confront them. They were my family, yet they treated me like an outsider. That was supposed to be Thea’s treatment. She was the damn enemy, and suddenly everyone was on her side.

“What the fuck was that at Sebastian’s?” I shouted the moment I walked in.

Roman was sitting down while Mom stared out the large window. Through her reflection, I could tell she wasn’t happy with me. The feeling was mutual.

She turned around, anger etched on her face. “I could ask you the same question.”

“This isn’t about me,” I snapped. “It’s about how you’re treating Thea. She’s not even our family, and she’s not part of this Pack anymore, so why are you kissing her ass? We should be celebrating that she’s finally out of our lives!”

I hated Thea so much. She’d taken so much from me. She took the most important person from me, and now she was trying to take my family, my support system, the people who’d been there for me when my heart was breaking.

“So you thought seducing Sebastian right in front of us was the solution?” Roman asked sarcastically.

“I wasn’t seducing him; I was staking my claim.”

Mom laughed, but there was no humor in it. Cold and devoid of emotion. Then she turned and slapped me. I hadn’t expected it, so I stumbled back a few steps. I looked at her in shock, my hand covering my stinging cheek. This was the second time she’d hit me.

“You’re acting like a cheap whore. A slut,” she said, her lips twisted in disgust.

I stared at her, unable to believe she’d call me that. She knew I loved Sebastian, so why was she calling my behavior prostitution?

“I guess you didn’t take what I told you seriously,” she said after a moment. “Three months, and you haven’t patched things up with Wyatt, haven’t even gone to see him. I’m tired of your foolish behavior.”

I’d tried to tell them I wanted nothing to do with Wyatt, but they wouldn’t listen. What did she expect me to do? Just do as she said, even if it was something I didn’t want?

“Now, you’re going to do as I say, Aurora, or you’ll find out I wasn’t just making empty threats about kicking you out of our home and Pack.” She turned to leave, then stopped. “And one more thing: stay away from Sebastian.”

“Why would you ask that of me?” I yelled, frustration driving me. “I love him.”
