Chapter 365

After taking her medicine, Joyce finally slept soundly. Sienna returned to the hospital, where Tara had brought a glass of warm water. "Take care of Joyce," Sienna instructed. "I'll go home and cook something."

"Thanks, Tara," Sienna nodded. "Just take care of Joyce's food. I'll be fine with anything."

"Got it," Tara replied before leaving.

Left alone, Sienna stayed by the bed, gently stroking Joyce's head. The little girl had started sweating. Sienna took Joyce's small towel from her bag and carefully wiped her forehead.

Sunlight streamed through the window, a bit too bright, making Joyce frown even in her sleep. Sienna quickly pulled the curtains shut. As she turned, the door creaked open, and Josiah walked in. "Sienna," he said.

Sienna's eyes immediately fell to his bandaged arm, hanging awkwardly across his chest. She couldn't help but laugh. "Did you get hurt saving your love?"

Josiah frowned. "I just dislocated my shoulder, nothing serious."

"Is that so?" Sienna raised an eyebrow, a colder smile creeping onto her face. "Seems like you're regretting it."

"Siennaโ€ฆ" Josiah frowned, at a loss for words. He knew she would misunderstand.

"It's quite a shame," Sienna continued, ignoring him. "Why didn't you just die together?"

"Sienna," Josiah's voice sharpened. His eyes flickered to Joyce, still asleep, before he reined himself in. "No matter how much you hate Yvette, you shouldn't have provoked her in that situation."

Sienna shrugged nonchalantly. "What? Are you here to lecture me? Or are you going to call the cops?"

Josiah felt a jolt. "That's not what I meantโ€”"

"Then shut up," Sienna snapped, turning away. She walked to the bed with a disgusted look. "Joyce needs a good rest. Keep it down."

Josiah stood silently, swallowing back his frustration.

On the bed, Joyce mumbled uncomfortably, clearly not feeling well.

"Joyce?" Sienna checked, but seeing she hadn't woken, sighed and prepared to lift her. Whenever Joyce was sick, she needed to be held to sleep peacefully; otherwise, she tossed and turned.

"I'll do it," Josiah offered, stepping in front of Sienna as she stood.

"You only have one arm available," Sienna said skeptically.

"How heavy can Joyce be?" Josiah said, bending down. With a swift movement, he lifted Joyce with one arm. "One arm is enough."

Gradually, Joyce quieted, relaxing in his arms.

By afternoon, Tara returned. Joyce was awake, cradled in Josiah's arms, and seemed much better. Following instructions from Sienna, Tara had prepared only Joyce's food. Holding out her hands, Tara said, "Mr. Flynn, you haven't eaten. You and Sienna should grab a bite. Joyce is good. Your mom and I will be back soon."

"Alright," Josiah nodded, handing Joyce to Tara. He gently stroked the little girl's head. "Be good."

"Okay," Joyce's voice was soft. Even sick, she retained her playful spark. She waved her little arms. "See you. Mr. Flynn, buy Mommy yummy food!"

Josiah chuckled. "Alright, I got it."

Neither of them had much of an appetite, so they found a nearby restaurant and ordered two set meals, eating just enough to get by. Since Josiah's arm was injured, Sienna finished first.

She set down her plate, wiped her mouth, and sipped her drink slowly. This seemed the perfect moment. She hesitated before speaking calmly, almost indifferently. "Josiah, you mentioned marriage before. Is that still on the table?"

Josiah looked up, his expression turning cold. "What do you mean? Are you backing out?"

"I'm not saying that," Sienna shook her head, her voice cool. "Do you think, with everything that's happened, we can still get to the point of marriage?"

"Why not?" Josiah set down his plate, locking eyes with her.

"What do you think!" Sienna raised an eyebrow, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "Did you forget that just hours ago you were willing to throw everything away for Yvette, practically willing to die with her?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Josiah's expression shifted, a mix of confusion and something else in his eyes. "Are you jealous? Didn't you say you have no feelings for me?"

"Yes," Sienna nodded calmly. "I don't like you, but Yvette does, doesn't she? She likes you so much, and yet you still want to marry me. Aren't you worried about breaking her heart?"

The complexity in Josiah's eyes instantly faded. He'd thought Sienna was jealous, but she wasn't. A fire ignited in his chest.

"Aren't you supposed to hate her?" Josiah chuckled, enduring the pain. "Wouldn't you be pleased if she's upset?"

Sienna, about to flare up, restrained herself. With a bitter laugh, she glanced at him sideways. "Josiah, you really are a piece of trash!"

She realized even the person he'd risk his life for couldn't stop his coercion. She slammed her glass on the table and stood to leave.

"Sienna," Josiah pulled her towards him, wrapping his arms around her. His cheek pressed against her chest, his voice muffled. "She doesn't like me. She's not acting this way because she's fond of me. Her leg is paralyzed; that's what's upsetting her. That's the real reason."

Sienna lowered her head, staring at him in confusion. 'Is this how he sees things? Should I call him delusional or just stubborn? Is there truly no way for me to break free from this awful marriage?' she thought.

After Joyce recovered, Sienna returned to filming. She only had one scene with a few shots. When not on camera, she stood to the side, observing.

"Sienna," someone tapped her shoulder. She turned to see Gavin Tucker, the stage head. "Someone's outside looking for you."

"Okay, thanks," Sienna smiled politely, puzzled. Who could be looking for her?

As she walked to the door, she saw no one. She didn't have many friends in the city. Could Gavin be mistaken? She shook her head, about to turn back.

"Sienna!" A young man stood by the flowerbed, tall, probably in his early twenties, strikingly handsome, walking towards her with a smile.

"Who are you?" Sienna searched her memory. 'Is he a fan? Do I even have fans now?' she thought.
