Chapter 355
Josiah walked Sienna to the film set, noticing her slightly swollen eyes as she exited the car. He held her hand firmly and led her into the studio. Social media buzzed with speculation about their relationship, and the crew was well aware they were a couple. Their hand-in-hand entrance stirred whispers and curious glances.
โSienna is here! How lucky she is!โ
โWill she soon be called Mrs. Flynn? Mr. Flynn himself announced it!โ
The implication that marital success overshadowed professional achievement wasn't lost on Sienna. Feeling the weight of everyone's gaze, she frowned and pulled away. "We're here," she stated.
"Yes," Josiah replied, having no intention of prolonging the spectacle. Releasing her hand, he added, "I'll pick you up this evening." He had ample time.
Sienna glanced at him, silently nodding before entering the studio. Maggie rushed over, her face beaming. "Mr. Flynn drove you here, didn't he?"
"Yes," Sienna replied, her eyelids drooping slightly.
"How amazing!" Maggie exclaimed, her tone laced with envy. "Did you know? Your official Instagram announcement crashed the servers! You haven't even made your official debut, and you're already famous! The whole crew is riding your coattails! Your name is trending, along with this production."
Sienna felt irritated by Maggie's incessant chatter.
A makeup assistant approached with a flattering yet cautious smile. "It's time for your makeup. Is this a good time?"
"Yes," Sienna replied quickly. Nodding towards Maggie, she added, "I'm going for my makeup. I'll get coffee and bring you one!"
After leaving the production, Josiah received a call from Hervey. "Mr. Flynn, Ms. Young has woken up and has been moved from the ICU to a regular room. Would you like to visit?"
"Yes," Josiah replied. "I'll be there soon." Their roles had reversed; he was recovering while Howard ran the company. Yvette's injury was a direct result of his actions, making Hervey's call understandable.
When Josiah arrived at the hospital, Yvette was with her mother. Though awake, her injuries restricted her movement. Lying in bed with a neck brace and light scratches on her pale face, she smiled weakly upon seeing him and attempted to sit up. "Don't move," Josiah said, gently pushing her shoulder, his brow furrowing. "You need to stay still."
Yvette winced, nodding slightly. "I know; I just forgot for a moment when I saw you."
"I'm sorry," Josiah said, his eyes heavy with regret. "It seems I've caused you trouble again."
"It's not your fault," Yvette insisted. "By the way, have they figured out who caused this?"
Yvette shook her head. "Don't say it. This time..." Josiah frowned, choosing not to elaborate.
"The Evans family?" Yvette asked.
"It is," Josiah confirmed with a nod. Given his background, Yvette's concern was unsurprising. Still, he chose not to say more. "Focus on getting better; don't worry about it."
"I understand," Yvette replied, realizing her questions wouldn't aid her recovery. Anything concerning the Evans family was best kept between the Flynn brothers.
"Is Howard here?"
Josiah shook his head. To spare Yvette disappointment, he explained, "Howard is at the office for an important meeting. He doesn't know yet. He'll come as soon as he can."
Yvette's features softened. Deep down, she knew Howard wouldn't neglect her. Their enduring bond made her irreplaceable in his heart, even when apart.
After finishing the meeting, Howard stepped out of the conference room and asked Hervey, "Is everything ready?"
Hervey nodded. "Yes, Howard, everything is fine."
"Good," Howard said curtly. Trusting Hervey implicitly, he sought only reassurance. Checking the time, he grabbed his jacket. "You don't need toโ"
"Howard," Hervey interrupted. "Ms. Young has woken up."
Howard stopped, his expression momentarily freezing before he swiftly altered his plans. "Then I'll visit her first."
However, upon arrival at the hospital, he found Yvette asleep. The doctor had administered a painkiller to alleviate her discomfort, making her drowsy.
"Should we wake her?" a nurse asked.
While the medication might keep her asleep, they could wake her if necessary.
"No, it's not necessary," Howard replied, shaking his head. Seeing her was enough; confirming her well-being was all he needed. Leaning closer to the nurse, he said, "Take good care of her."
"Mr. Flynn, don't worry," the nurse replied.
Howard nodded and left the room. He got into his car and instructed the driver, "Take me to the nursing home." He glanced at his watch, urging the driver to hurry. His brow furrowed with impatience, wondering if he would still have time.
In recent days, Rosie's mood had plummeted. Her surgery was delayed due to elevated eye pressure detected during a recent checkup. Her blindness might last longer than expected, and Rosie feared permanent vision loss.
Approaching dinner time, Amy inquired, "Ms. Miller, what would you like for dinner?"
Rosie shook her head. "I have no appetite. Two slices of bread and a glass of milk will do."
"Can't do!" Amy protested. "Today is your birthday; we have to celebrate!"
Rosie looked surprised. "My birthday?"
Amy confirmed. "I saw the date on your hospital admission paperwork; it's today."
Rosie sighed. "I can't see, and I've lost track of the days. Thank you for remembering, Amy, but there's really nothing to celebrate. Besides, it's not exactly a convenient time in the nursing home."
"Not for you!" Amy insisted, smiling. "I'll bring your favorite dishes from the dining hallโฆ"
The doorbell rang. "Who could that be at this hour?" Amy said, her curiosity piqued as she moved toward the door.
