Chapter 230

Howard's resolve wavered for a moment, his lips pressing into a straight line. He hesitated. "Josiahโ€ฆ"

Josiah's heart sank with unease. "What on earth is so hard to say?"

Howard remained silent.

Josiah's urgency grew. "Howard, is it really that difficult to tell me?" He guessed, "Have you done something to hurt Yvette?"

A brief flicker of emotionโ€”a confirmation of Josiah's suspicionโ€”flashed in Howard's eyes.

"Howard!" Josiah gasped, stepping closer and lowering his voice. "You need to speak up!"

Josh Howard furrowed his brow, clearly struggling.

Josiah Hervey interjected, pulling Josiah back. "Howard knows what he's doing; please don't pressure him."

Josiah's anger flared, veins standing out on his forehead as he glared at Howard. "Am I pressuring him? Your personal matters are your own, but I honestly hope you understand what you're doing."

He pointed toward the ward. "Today, Yvette fainted from low blood sugar. But what if next time it's worse? If she were truly in danger and needed you, would you be like thisโ€”absent?"

Howard's expression darkened, and he fell silent. Josiah regarded him thoughtfully, his confusion and disappointment fading into resignation.

"He's your younger brother. I can say no more. Go inside and check on Yvette; she was just asking for you." With that, Josiah left the ward.

Hervey looked at the quiet Howard. "Maybe you should talk to Josiah. He is your most trusted brother, and having his help could save much trouble."

Howard frowned and glanced at Hervey. "No. I have my own plans for this."

"I see." Hervey remained silent.

Howard stepped into the ward, pondering, Should I tell Josiah? As Hervey said, his help would be beneficial. Or perhaps I should wait a bit longerโ€ฆ

Chapter 280

After Jonah left, Sienna decided against watching the film and went to keep Joyce company. She grabbed her bag and left the screening room.

The place was crowded. Suddenly, a passerby bumped into her, causing her to twist awkwardly, nearly falling.

"Are you alright?" Someone steadied her.

"I'm fine. Thank you," Sienna managed a smile, but her relief was short-lived. She touched her wrist and realized her watch was gone.

She quickly scanned the crowd. It must have been the person who bumped into her. "Thief! He stole my watch!" She vaguely remembered the man's features, including his black baseball cap.

The man glanced back nervously. "Stop right there! It's you!" Sienna pushed through the crowd, chasing him. "Don't run!"

Suddenly, Cedric dashed out from behind her. Sienna was surprised to see him. Watching him sprint ahead, she worried about his injured leg.

Cedric caught up with the man, delivering a swift kick to his knee, causing him to fall. "Where's the watch?"

The man scoffed, reaching into his jacket pocket, producing a knife and lunging at Cedric. He knocked Cedric to the ground and fled.

"Cedric!" Sienna rushed forward, horrified. She knelt beside him, supporting his weight. "Cedric! Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine," Cedric steadied himself, looking at Sienna with a faint smile. "Don't worry, it's just my arm. It's nothing serious." Blood seeped through his fingers.

"We need to get to a hospital, immediately!" Sienna urged, helping him up. "Let's go, right now!"

"Okay." Cedric nodded, apologetic. "I'm sorry; I couldn't get your watch back."

"Why are you even mentioning the watch now?" Sienna shook her head. Had she known this would happen, she never would have chased the thief.

"The car's here; get in," Sienna urged.

"Okay."

On his way to the cinema, Josiah received a call from Zaid. "Zaid, I'm almost there."

"Mr. Flynn," Zaid replied, "I arrived at the appointed time, but I haven't seen Sienna. Plus, her phone is off."

Josiah frowned. "Alright, I will call her."

"Okay."

After ending the call, Josiah dialed Sienna. As Zaid said, she didn't answer. Finally, to his relief, she did.

"Hello?"

Thinking she might be upset, he tried again.

"Sienna," Josiah felt relief. "I'm almost at the cinema; where are you? Which exit?"

To his surprise, Sienna replied, "I'm not at the cinema."

Josiah froze. "Where are you?"

"I'm at the hospital." Sienna explained everything.

"Okay, I'm on my way." After hanging up, worry clouded Josiah's features. Cedric again. Would this ever end?

At the hospital, Josiah found Sienna supporting Cedric on a bench. After returning from the ER, Cedric's arm was worse than they'd thoughtโ€”deep enough to risk nerve damage and requiring surgery.

Sienna felt a mix of frustration and guilt, believing she was somehow to blame. "This is all my fault."

"Don't say that," Cedric hated seeing her upset. "You didn't stab me; blame the thief, not yourself. Don't punish yourself for what someone else did, okay!"

Sienna's eyes filled with tears. He remained so kind, showing no resentment. He was such a gentle soul.

"Don't cry," Cedric pulled a tissue from his pocket, paused, and then handed it to her. "Wipe your tears; I still need you to help me."
