Chapter 204

"Why did he suddenly say that?" Sienna mused. "What's our relationship even supposed to be? And he's making promises?"

What baffled her most was Josiah's insistence on reconciliation. Trying to make sense of it, she asked, "Do you think I'm that easy to manipulate?"

Josiah chuckled. "Easy to manipulate?" It was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard.

Sienna understood his mocking tone. "You know Yvette and I don't get along, but you insist on being with me anyway. We're bound to cross paths, and I'll still argue with her. I might even get physical again, like on set. Doesn't that give you a headache?" she asked, genuinely bewildered. "Other people date to have fun. He wants to be with me knowing I'll argue with him every dayโ€ฆ Is he crazy?" she thought.

Josiah smirked, raising an eyebrow. "What's wrong? Are you worried about me?"

Sienna was stunned, angry, and speechless.

"I'll say it again," Josiah said, smiling, convinced Sienna cared for him. "Whether you want to interfere in my business or worry about me, you'll need to be my girlfriend first. We have nothing to do with each other right now, so it's inappropriate for you to be so concerned."

Sienna took a deep breath, clenching her fists. Rosie's still stuck in detention, she thought. Does he think I'm joking?

Her anger boiled over. "Mr. Flynn, you've always been so high and mighty, haven't you? In your eyes, ordinary lives are just something you can toy with as you please, aren't they?"

Josiah paused, sighed softly, and lowered his head. "Toy with? With a single word, you've decided both my fate and your friend's. Aren't you the one toying with me?"

"What kind of nonsense is that?" Sienna thought. Her gaze sharpened as she locked eyes with him. His expression was devoid of emotionโ€”no smile, no anger, just an intense, unwavering, passionate, and pure look. "My phone will be on 24/7. I'm waiting for your response," he said.

Sienna was dumbfounded, realizing she couldn't communicate with him. What's his deal? Why this shield? she wondered.

Josiah drove her back to Sunshine Neighborhood. That night, Sienna tossed and turned, finally drifting into a light sleep in the early hours. Having spent half the night awake, she rarely overslept, but Joyce woke her.

"Mommy, good morning," Joyce said softly, leaning on the edge of the bed. "Mommy, good morning," she whispered, hesitant to disturb her.

"Hmm," Sienna murmured, pulling her daughter close. "Good morning, sweetheart."

"Mommy, are you feeling okay?" Joyce asked, concerned.

"I'm fine," Sienna said, pinching Joyce's cheeks. "I just decided to sleep in."

Joyce beamed, snuggling into her mother's arms. "Then I'll sleep in with Mommy too."

"Sure," Sienna replied, smiling. Holding Joyce close, she felt heartache and guilt. Joyce, I'm going to get busy again. But I promise I'll do my best to end all of this as soon as possible, she thought.

After leaving Sunshine Neighborhood, Sienna headed to Silver Beach to resolve Rosie's crisis. As for everything else, she would take it one step at a time.

Meanwhile, at the Flynn residence, after breakfast, Hervey helped Howard, leaning on his cane, to the study. Howard had spent days trying to walk without his wheelchair and could now manage with a cane.

"Go ahead," Howard said, settling onto the couch. Hervey knew he had news. He had held back earlier, with Miranda present.

"Yes, Howard," Hervey began, lowering his voice. "Do you know who hurt Ms. Young?" The implication was clear.

Howard frowned. "Someone I know?" he asked.

"Yes," Hervey confirmed. "It's Rosie."

Howard was stunned. His hand clenched. The air grew tense. After a long pause, Howard said, "Prepare the car. We're going to the police station. Notify Gilbert."

"Yes, Howard," Hervey replied, understanding his intent.

Sienna stood at the gates of Silver Beach before raising her hand and pressing the doorbell. "Come in," the intercom respondedโ€”Josiah's voice. His quick response suggested he'd been waiting.

Sienna took a deep breath and pushed open the door. "You're here?" Josiah leaned against the wall, nodding towards slippers he'd set out.

"Thanks," Sienna replied. After changing her shoes, she went into the living room and sat on the sofa. Josiah, dressed casually, looked more relaxed than usual.

"Sit here," Josiah said, patting the spot beside him.

Sienna paused before going to a single-seater sofa. Josiah's gaze darkened. "I thought you came here because you'd made up your mind."

"I have," Sienna replied.

"Oh!" Josiah's voice was cool, but nervousness laced his smile. "Then tell me. What's your decision?"

Sienna met his gaze. "I agree to your request. We can reconcile."

"Yes! Perfect!" Josiah was ecstatic. He patted the spot beside him again. "Come sit here. Why are you sitting so far away?"

Sienna frowned. "Let me finish."

"What? Go ahead," Josiah urged. "Do you have a condition? Just say it."

Sienna took a deep breath. "You said before that unless there was a major mistake, I couldn't break up with you. I want to define what constitutes a major mistake."

"Is that really necessary?" Josiah chuckled. "I know what you mean. Don't worry. I won't cheat on you or get involved with other womenโ€ฆ"

"Josiah, listen to me," Sienna interrupted coldly. Her tone was soft yet firm. "If another situation arises between Yvette and me, like last time, and you take her side, we're done. And I don't want you making things difficult for me anymore."

She stared into his eyes. "Can you do that? If you can, then forget I ever brought up breaking up. But if you can't, then do me a favor and stop mistreating me." Her eyes glistened, partly from acting. "I won't accept being anything less than the most important person in my boyfriend's heart."
