Chapter 952

When Lena opened the video call, Keira saw she was in a three-bedroom apartment. Keira was surprised. She hadn’t realized Lena had already moved into Ron’s place so quickly. Curiously, she asked, “Where are you?”

“At my husband’s house,” she said without any shame at all.

Seeing her carefree attitude, Keira could tell she had gotten what she wanted, but was still shocked. “Ron agreed, and you’re already living with him?”

“Yeah, get the red envelopes ready. Make sure you load them up with a lot of cash,” Lena said, acting as if it were all part of the plan.

Keira didn’t laugh with her. “Lena, it’s easy to get on the ship, but hard to get off. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Shane and I have a contract. It’s a clear-cut transaction,” Lena said, speaking as if she were very clever.

Keira wasn’t sure what Ron was thinking or how Lena had managed to convince him, but it seemed like they were both on the same page, and the deal was done. Since it was already done, Keira didn’t want to say much more. Instead, she asked, “What about your uncle?”

“I don’t know. All I know is I escaped,” Lena said, sounding like someone who had just broken out of a cage.

Looking at her through the camera, Keira said, “Lena, let me ask you something. You don’t need to answer right now, but think about it carefully.”

“What is it?” she asked.

“If Ron weren’t your uncle, would you be with him?” Keira asked.

Lena immediately raised her hand. “Stop. That scenario doesn’t exist, so I’m not going to think about it.”

“Lena, I understand the dilemma you’re in, and I know if you were with Aaron, you’d have to endure a lot. But… I also think Aaron is a good man, and you’d miss out on something great,” Keira said, always keeping her well-being in mind.

For this, Hayden teased Keira, calling her a worrywart.

Lena was silent for two seconds before answering. “Not really. There are plenty of good men out there.”

Keira could tell from her response that she was completely set on not getting involved with Aaron anymore and didn’t press the issue further. Maybe Hayden was right. Some things needed to be felt firsthand before one understood what they truly wanted. “Well, then, I wish you and Mr. Shane a happy ‘marriage,’ and may you have children soon, early…”

“Shut up!” Lena interrupted her, clearly annoyed. “We’re just acting. And if Aaron asks about me, don’t tell him anything.”

Keira laughed. “Do you think he’s an idiot? You’ve been living with him all this time, and now you suddenly get a boyfriend and move in with him. Does he not know? If he doesn’t report Ron to the authorities for being a pervert, then I’ll be surprised.”

Lena froze, seemingly not having thought of that. “Do you think he would?”

“You’d have to ask him. How would I know?” But Keira knew that Aaron had already made the decision to go against his family for the sake of being with her. His determination was clear, so if Lena wanted to escape, it probably wouldn’t be that easy.

After ending the call, Keira sat on the rocking chair, gazing up at the sky in the small courtyard, lost in thought. Hayden came over. “Still thinking about Lena?”

Keira told him about Lena and Ron’s agreement. Hayden smiled lightly. “They’re both adults. I’m sure they didn’t do this impulsively. Ron isn’t a bad person. If you’re worried, I can remind him again.”

“You should remind him now,” Keira said firmly. Lena was someone she held dear, and she wouldn’t allow anything to go wrong.

Hayden always complied with her requests. He immediately called Ron and put the phone on speaker.

“Mr. Hart, what can I do for you?” Ron’s voice was cheerful.

“I heard you brought your girlfriend home to stay?” Hayden asked, giving Keira’s leg a gentle squeeze as he spoke.
