Chapter 86

After being overwhelmed by such a barrage of accusations, Giselle felt utterly helpless. However, the fact that she had deliberately tried to seduce Donovan was true, after all.

“Mrs. Kane, I’m here today because Mr. Kane asked me to be,” she countered smoothly. “If you’re questioning my being here, perhaps you should take this matter up with him directly.”

Giselle was quick to push the responsibility onto Donovan.

But before Dorothea could say another word, Anne jumped in, “Mrs. Kane, don’t listen to her nonsense! You know better than anyone. He’s busy with work every day and already has enough on his plate running the company. He doesn’t need to be bothered with drama like this. Let us handle it for him!”

Anne stormed upstairs.

Having pieced everything together, Anne…

When she spotted Giselle’s camisole sleepwear in the master bedroom, along with her two large suitcases and makeup kit on the vanity, her anger boiled over. Without hesitation, she gathered up all of Giselle’s clothes and belongings and threw them into the trash.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Dorothea was still berating Giselle. “Ms. Holt, I’ve long heard of your scandalous behavior. What you do with your life is none of my concern, but if you meddle in Don’s marriage, I won’t sit back and stay silent.

“I’ll repeat this. Out of respect for your father, I won’t make things difficult for you today. Now get out!”

Giselle wasn’t a fool. She knew full well that Renee had already poisoned Dorothea against her. Renee had even fabricated the claim that she had poisoned Dorothea’s cat.

Now, Dorothea had serious prejudice toward her. If she insisted on staying, she would only be humiliating herself even further.

But after carefully planning everything and finally getting this far with Donovan, Giselle wasn’t about to back down so easily.

While the atmosphere remained tense, Anne came stomping downstairs, dragging Giselle’s suitcase behind her.

Halfway down, she kicked it hard, sending it tumbling down the stairs.

Clothes flew everywhere, and the suitcase was damaged. With that, the memory of being shoved into the street by Anne and almost losing her life rushed back to Giselle.

She took a deep breath and finally snapped, “Anne, I want you to pick up every single thing and pack it back properly into my suitcase. Now!”

If Dorothea wasn’t present, Giselle would have charged forward and ripped out Anne’s hair. She would have given Anne the beating she deserved to avenge the attempted murder that day.

Anne shouted back through gritted teeth. Her eyes were red with fury. “You bitch! Who the hell do you think you are? You disgraced our family, and now you’ve come to disgrace yourself in the Kanes too!

You’ve been stealing everything from me since we were little, and I put up with it. But now that you’ve got your eye on my fiance, I won’t stand for it! You’re not only destroying my engagement, you’re ruining his life too! Get out!!!”

When Giselle still didn’t move, Renee signaled the driver and a male assistant who had come with them. “Get her out of here. If we don’t get rough, she won’t leave. Her skin’s too thick. Don’t let her upset Mrs. Kane any further.”

The assistant obeyed and stepped forward to drag Giselle out by force. But Eastin lunged at him from a corner of the room.

It sank its teeth into his arm, attacking wildly. The man couldn’t shake Eastin off and started screaming in panic for help. Everyone else in the room was shocked and backed away in fear. Chaos broke out in the living room as shouts and barks filled the air. The assistant’s shin was torn, his neck had been scratched, and he was bleeding before Giselle finally called Eastin off.

Eastin had never attacked a person without reason. It only reacted this violently when it sensed dangerous men trying to harm her.

Still shaken, Anne bitterly said, “Mrs. Kane, you saw it with your own eyes. Giselle has raised a vicious dog. The last time my mom scolded her, she set the beast loose. She’s completely out of control!”

Dorothea trembled with rage.

“This... This is outrageous. How could she be allowed to keep such a dangerous breed? Isn’t there a government regulation banning dogs like this? She thinks she’s above the law!"
