Chapter 178

Anya hurried to Eden, who was sullen after being punched. Humbly, she said, “Sir, regardless of your relationship with Rosalie, she is still Julian’s wife. You should return her to us. You don’t want her to become the subject of gossip, do you?”

Eden looked at Anya, recognizing her as Julian’s sister. Compared to Julian, Anya had always been kind to Rosalie, even taking her side. He wasn’t unreasonable. Though he despised Julian, he harbored no ill will toward Anya. Furthermore, his earlier claim of being a “third wheel” was merely to irritate Julian.

Now, reminded by Anya, he realized the news of him carrying Julian’s wife to the hospital would damage Rosalie’s reputation. Reluctantly, he handed Rosalie over to Julian.

The drowsy Rosalie seemed to sense something. The moment Eden relinquished her to Julian, she instinctively struggled. But exhaustion overcame her; her efforts were in vain.

Eden’s fierce gaze met Julian’s. He said, “I’ve given Rosalie back to you, but understand this: even in your hands, she will never want you.”

Julian mused, ‘I’ve heard that again. “Rosalie doesn’t want me anymore.” It’s like a curse; everyone seems compelled to say it to me.’
