Chapter 162
Anya summoned the waiter to take their order. Remembering Rosalie's overbearing behavior after drinking the last time, Anya quickly added, "You can't drink anything too strong this time. It's just the two of us, and I don't have Julian's strength to carry you back."
Mentioning Julian caused Rosalie's eyelids to tremble slightly; she picked up some nuts to eat. She had no recollection of her last drunken episode and hadn't asked for details afterward. She only knew from Clara that Julian had carried her home. Her gaze involuntarily drifted toward Julian.
Suppressing her thoughts, she said to Anya, "No, I've only ordered a milder cocktail this time." After her last experience, Rosalie wasn't foolish enough to risk it again. If she got drunk, she would be the one to suffer.
"That's the right attitude," Anya said, patting Rosalie's hand. "There's no need to drown your sorrows in alcohol over a jerk like Julian."
She didn't notice the group of people at a distant table and continued, "I heard he still hasn't signed the divorce papers." She picked up a handful of nuts, popped one in her mouth, her tone casual.
"Yes," Rosalie replied gloomily, then let out a cold laugh. "He's deliberately opposing me." Rosalie was truly amazed at Julian. To make her miserable, he was willing to let his beloved assume the title of mistress. He was dragging his feet on the divorce while being intimate with Roseanne.
At that moment, the waiter arrived with their drinks, momentarily blocking Rosalie's view and bringing her back to the present. "Enjoy your drinks, ladies," the waiter said.
"Why did you call me out, Anya?" Rosalie asked, taking a sip of her cocktail and deliberately avoiding the commotion across the room. She realized she was still, unfortunately, affected by Julian and tried to avoid any contact with him.
