Chapter 156
By the time Kaleb arrived, Julian’s table was littered with empty beer bottles. “Julian, why have you drunk so much?” Sean, who followed Kaleb, was shocked by the sight.
Julian’s only flaw was probably his bad temper. He didn’t smoke and rarely drank, so seeing him with a table full of empty bottles was surprising. “Is Julian trying to drown his sorrows? If it weren’t for the fact that you have no feelings for Rosalie, I’d almost think you were heartbroken,” Sean added, sitting down next to Julian.
Kaleb glanced at his brother with a cool, complicated expression. Sean’s good fortune in life was probably due to his intelligence, and sometimes he really didn’t know when to keep quiet.
Julian wasn’t a lightweight drinker, though he seldom imbibed. The bottles were all beer and wouldn't affect him much. So, when Sean mentioned Rosalie, Julian glared at him with irritation.
“If you came here just to annoy me by bringing up Rosalie, then leave,” Julian said coldly. Sean was taken aback. Julian really disliked Rosalie; mentioning her name angered him.
Two others, who had arrived a short distance behind, had also heard Julian. Roseanne, having insisted on accompanying Matteo upon hearing Julian was present, had been planning how to reconcile with him. But upon entering, she heard Julian's obvious disgust at the mention of Rosalie.
Her heart leaped with joy, and she tugged at Matteo’s arm, urging him forward. “Why are you guys here too?” Kaleb was the first to notice Matteo and Roseanne; his brow furrowed, clearly unwelcoming.
