Chapter 149

Edward muttered darkly to himself, but said jokingly, “Alright, I won’t disturb you two anymore. I’m off to the study to handle some things. Take care.”

Edward left, and Rosalie finally had a moment alone with Julian. She glanced at him and spoke first. “My dad called you here?”

She remembered that’s what they’d said when Julian first arrived. Julian nodded, showing more patience than usual. In their marriage, even such a simple response would typically have annoyed him.

At that moment, Rosalie didn’t feel delighted; instead, she felt a surge of irony. So, she laughed.

Julian looked at the corners of her eyes, raised an eyebrow, and didn’t understand her amusement. Then he heard Rosalie say, “Mr. Galloway, I didn’t expect you to be so obedient to my dad. He called, and you came?”

Rosalie knew why Edward had summoned Julian and wasn’t surprised. What surprised her was Julian’s compliance. He had never been to her house before time travel.

Faced with her subtle sarcasm, Julian didn’t react with his usual anger. Perhaps he’d become accustomed to her barbs. This time, he simply looked up and smiled, saying, “Who says I came because he told me to?”

Rosalie looked at him, waiting for him to continue. “You haven’t been home for almost a month. How long do you plan to keep this up?”

Rosalie was taken aback. "Julian thinks my not returning to our insignificant little home is some kind of tantrum?" she wondered. "Julian, you wanted the divorce. Now you're telling me I'm making a scene!" Rosalie felt an urge to fight.
