Chapter 141

The few people who had heard the commotion downstairs reached the upper floor just as they overheard Rosalie’s humiliating remarks. Seeing Helena’s bedroom door strewn with clothes and bedding, everyone except Julian wore unpleasant expressions.

“Rosalie, you’re going too far,” Helena said, her temper already frayed from the downstairs altercation. Seeing her belongings tossed out, she couldn’t help but confront Rosalie.

“Am I?” Rosalie nonchalantly raised an eyebrow. “The one who shamelessly took over my room doesn’t think it’s too much. Why should I?”

With a smirk, she glanced between Claudia and Helena, letting out a derisive snort. “You two really are mother and daughter. The brazen theft of others' belongings is truly in your blood. No one else could imitate it.”

Julian, quietly observing his soon-to-be ex-wife’s performance, subtly twitched the corner of his mouth, feeling a bit relieved by her…

Helena, brimming with anger and wanting to retaliate, swallowed her words upon seeing Julian watching.

She then adopted an innocent, pitiful expression and choked out, “Even if you won’t let me stay in your room, you shouldn’t have thrown my things out. You could have told me, and I would have moved out myself.”

Her tears welled, a perfect portrayal of a soap opera’s leading lady.

Rosalie, however, showed no interest in indulging her display. She simply said, “This is my room. If I don’t want something in it, it has to go. Do I need anyone’s permission?”

“H-how can you be like this, Rosalie!” Helena’s tears flowed freely.

Though Helena’s heart raged, all she could do was cry.

Ignoring Helena, Rosalie turned to Hollie, who stood behind Claudia with a resentful expression. Disregarding Hollie’s anger, Rosalie said, “Hollie, get a new set of sheets and bedding and make the bed.”

Hollie hesitated, but Rosalie’s authority prevented open defiance. She could only look to Claudia for guidance.

Claudia’s face contorted with such rage that she feared she might attack Rosalie if allowed to continue.

“Rosalie, it’s late. It’s too much trouble. The upstairs guest room is prepared, set up to your preferences. Why make a fuss? Helena is used to this room,” Claudia said.

A cold snort cut off Claudia’s words. Claudia’s face changed as she met Julian’s cold gaze. “I’ve never heard of someone taking over another person’s belongings so brazenly,” Julian stated.

Claudia, having missed the earlier humiliation, was displeased to hear Julian clearly siding with Rosalie.

“Why call it ‘taking over’? Rosalie is Helena’s sister. Helena merely switched rooms. She shouldn’t be so stingy,” Claudia retorted. Having witnessed Claudia’s shamelessness, Rosalie remained unfazed.
