Chapter 964:

Intimidated? By what? Elyse was puzzled, but responded honestly, โ€œIf thatโ€™s the case, I hope your marriage happens quickly.โ€

Louise paused, then let out a scornful laugh. โ€œInteresting response. Are you backing off to gain an advantage? I didnโ€™t realize you were so cunning.โ€

Elyse looked at Louise, perplexed. โ€œEnough with the nonsense. You drenched me with water. You owe me an apology.โ€

Louiseโ€™s expression remained haughty. โ€œAn apology? Impossible. Iโ€™ve never apologized to anyone in my life. Just name your price for compensation. I can afford any amount.โ€

Elyse was frustrated. โ€œThis isnโ€™t about money. You need to apologize.โ€

Louise frowned, her pride unyielding. โ€œDidnโ€™t you hear me? I wonโ€™t apologize. I did nothing wrong. Why should I apologize?โ€

With that, Louise grabbed Elyseโ€™s hair, dropping all pretense of decorum.

Elyse winced in pain, momentarily stunned, then retaliated by grabbing Louiseโ€™s hair.

The butler, arriving with tea, was shocked to see the two women grappling. โ€œStop fighting! Release each other!โ€ he urged, but neither woman let go.

Eventually, the butler called Edward, who separated them upon his arrival. Both womenโ€™s hair was disheveled and tangled.

Elyse, losing her temper, yelled, โ€œWhen you make a mistake, you should apologize! Didnโ€™t your parents ever teach you that?โ€

Louise, overcome with emotion, retorted, โ€œI wonโ€™t apologize. What are you going to do about it?โ€

Elyse glared at Louise, her teeth clenched.

Edward, sensing a potential conflict, intervened. โ€œPlease, letโ€™s not argue anymore. You both are acting irrationally. Letโ€™s go inside and discuss this calmly.โ€

Before Elyse could respond, Louise said, โ€œEdward, why do you take her side? Why not mine? Donโ€™t you care about me anymore?โ€

Edward was at a loss for words. โ€œCanโ€™t you see how unreasonable youโ€™re being? Youโ€™ve been spoiled by your parents.โ€

Louise, incredulous, demanded, โ€œEdward, youโ€™ve changed. Youโ€™ve turned your back on me.โ€

Saying that, Louise attempted to storm off, but Edward caught her arm. . . .
