Chapter 914:

Memories of his rough touch flooded back, and Elyseโ€™s voice wavered. โ€œHow many times did you cum?โ€

His grin was almost casual. โ€œItโ€™s been six months. Iโ€™ve been saving it all for you.โ€

He kissed her softly, her body trembling beneath him. โ€œI told you Iโ€™d only do that for you.โ€

Elyseโ€™s heart sank. โ€œWhen did I ever say I wanted that?โ€

โ€œI decided for you,โ€ he replied, his tone unbothered. Elyse cried out in frustration, her voice shaking as she called him a shameless pervert and a heartless man.

Jayden shrugged off her insults, even urging her to strike him. Then, without hesitation, he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her in a mock attempt at comfort.

What Elyse failed to see was the disturbing paranoia in his gaze. If she had noticed, fear would have gripped her, for the man holding her was no longer the person she once knew. His affection had morphed into something twisted and dangerous.

Feeling wronged, she protested, โ€œHave you ever thought I might get pregnant because of your actions? You didnโ€™t use protection, and Iโ€™m not your wife. What gives you the right to do this to me?โ€

Jayden, unfazed, leaned in and kissed her gently. His voice was soft as he murmured, โ€œThen marry me. Stay with me and give me children.โ€

His grip tightened. โ€œJust trust me this one last time. Iโ€™ll make sure nothing goes wrong. No one will hurt you again.โ€

Elyseโ€™s heart sank. All she could feel was bitterness. He was the one who had hurt her most, yet here he was, pretending to be her savior.

Jayden gently soothed Elyse until she drifted off to sleep. It might have been the dayโ€™s events combined with their passionate night that left her utterly spent, body and mind.

Yet, Jayden wasnโ€™t ready to sleep. Instead of lying on top of Elyse, he cradled her, gazing intently at her peaceful face.

He couldnโ€™t recall the last time heโ€™d looked at her with such intensity. He only knew it had been a long time since theyโ€™d shared a bed like this.

After settling his disputes with the Hudsons, Jayden hardly let his thoughts wander, appreciating the peace and order that followed the chaos.

The persistent ringing of the phone in his pocket disturbed Elyseโ€™s sleep.

โ€œHoney, Iโ€™ll turn off my phone. You keep sleeping,โ€ Jayden whispered soothingly, reaching for his phone.

Upon seeing the messages from Edward, a frown formed on his face. . . .
