Chapter 806:
Elyse showed discomfort. She glanced at Theo, sighed deeply, and left the stage.
Backstage, Fiona approached Elyse arrogantly. โElyse, youโre a good actress. Youโre married, yet youโre ambiguous with so many men.โ
Elyse, initially pleased with her performance, was angered by Fionaโs words. โWhat are you talking about?โ
Fiona raised an eyebrow. โIsnโt it true? Your admirer publicly declared his love. If you werenโt leading him on, why would he say โI love youโ?โ
Fionaโs sarcastic comment nearly accused Elyse of promiscuity and disloyalty to Jayden.
Elyse laughed. โYes, I gave him hope. Tell Jayden someoneโs pursuing me; let him break up with me.โ
โFine. I canโt wait to see you two split up.โ Fiona hoped to replace Elyse.
Elyse didnโt stop Fiona. If Fiona convinced Jayden to end their relationship, it would be a favor.
Darren, observing, asked bewildered, โSheโs making accusations. Why arenโt you stopping her?โ
Elyse gave Darren a stern look. โYouโre about to perform. Stay out of this, or it might affect your focus.โ
Darren chuckled. โIโm fantastic. Making it this far is an achievement. I wonโt regret it even if I donโt win.โ
Elyse smiled. โIโm not sure if youโre truly in a good headspace.โ
Darren laughed. โIโm incredibly strong right now.โ
Elyse laughed, then retrieved her violin case.
Edward glanced at Darren. โYou really value your friendship with her.โ
Darren nodded. โIโm practical. Thereโs no possibility between us, not just because sheโs married, but because she doesnโt feel the same way. Love has to be reciprocal.โ
Edward paused. โWhile I think you lack courage, your perspective is logical.โ
Darren clenched his teeth. โYouโre the one lacking courage.โ
Edward chuckled, picked up his violin, straightened his clothes, and declared, โEnough chatting. Iโm heading to the competition.โ
Darren nodded and watched Edward go on stage.
After storing her violin, Elyse stood beside Darren. โWhat position do you think Edward will achieve?โ
โIโm not sure. What position are you hoping for?โ Darren asked curiously.
