Chapter 748:

Gripping his hand, her eyes shimmered with shame and fear. Her voice shook as she declared, โ€œDonโ€™t you dare do anything. I wonโ€™t let you.โ€

Realizing Elyse misunderstood, Jayden lightheartedly patted her backside, teasing, โ€œIโ€™m just helping you with your new pantyhose. What mischievous thoughts have you been fostering?โ€

He moved closer, a playful sparkle in his eyes. โ€œOr maybe youโ€™re secretly hoping Iโ€™d fuck you right here. I wouldnโ€™t mind at all.โ€ Elyseโ€™s face turned crimson as she realized her misunderstanding. She pressed against his stomach. โ€œI can manage on my own. I donโ€™t need your help.โ€

โ€œNo way. Since I tore your pantyhose, itโ€™s only right I help you with the new ones,โ€ Jayden insisted.

With careful attention, he helped her with the new pantyhose and her shoes, his manner now one of focused care.

However, Elyse questioned his sudden attentiveness. She knew such care was owed to Aarya, his current girlfriend, not her, his former wife.

Elyse regarded Jayden with conflicting feelings. โ€œAre you going to let things continue like this, Jayden?โ€ she inquired. โ€œHave you considered how this might hurt your girlfriend?โ€

Jayden responded, โ€œSo, what do you suggest I do? Should I rush to Aarya and do everything with her?โ€

Elyse nodded slowly. โ€œAs her boyfriend, thatโ€™s your duty. Jayden, donโ€™t act childishly. Value the one you truly care for.โ€

Jayden looked into Elyseโ€™s eyes. โ€œI understand,โ€ he said gently. โ€œI will value the one I truly care for.โ€

Elyse sensed a change in Jayden. When he promised to cherish those he cared about, she believed heโ€™d finally thought things through.

โ€œYou should go. Staying here wonโ€™t help.โ€ She knew she should have left Jayden long ago.

Jayden glanced at the time. โ€œTimeโ€™s almost up. I need to go now. Remember what I said.โ€

With those words, he left quickly.

After Jayden left, Elyseโ€™s strength faded. She sank onto the sofa and cried quietly.

โ€œElyse, I need to tell you something. Iโ€™m definitely going to top my group this time. If you also make it to the top, we might end up as rivals in the next match,โ€ Edward burst through the door, excitement on his face.

Yet, seeing Elyse crying, he stopped.

Edward frowned. โ€œWhy are you crying so easily? You know a womanโ€™s tears are precious. You shouldnโ€™t waste them.โ€

Elyse asked quietly, โ€œWhatโ€™s the big deal?โ€

Edward walked over, concern in his voice. โ€œOf course, it is. If you cry too much, youโ€™ll become ugly.โ€

Elyse sighed. โ€œDo you seriously think I care about being pretty or ugly right now?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re hopeless. If you donโ€™t even care about your looks, what else is there?โ€ Edwardโ€™s voice grew louder. โ€œWhat made you cry? Tell me, and Iโ€™ll take care of it.โ€

Elyse felt embarrassed. She turned her head to hide her tears.

Seeing her avoidance, Edward crossed his arms. โ€œElyse, are you crying over a guy?โ€

He hit the bullโ€™s-eye.
