Chapter 711:
Elyse instinctively averted her gaze and shook her head, whispering, โNo, of course not.โ
Irving remained silent, but his eyes spoke volumes. Elyse was a terrible liar; the guilt on her face always gave her away.
With a gentle pat on her head, Irving said gently, โAlright, alright. Go back and get some rest. Letโs talk once youโve slept it off.โ
Dismissed, Elyse trudged back to her room, collapsing onto her bed, her mind spinning. Was it all just a dream? As she pondered, sleep slowly reclaimed her.
By noon, a knock awoke Elyse. She groggily opened the door to find Gavin. Stifling a yawn, she mumbled, โGavin, whatโs up?โ

Edwardโs eyes crinkled as he smiled, extending his hand. โHello, itโs an honor to meet you. You look just like the beautiful princess Gavin described.โ
Elyseโs cheeks flushed. She scratched her head bashfully. โIโm not as great as you think. Iโm just an ordinary girl.โ
Edward smiled charmingly. โYouโre too modest.โ Scanning the menu, he asked politely, โHow about a glass of wine to warm up? Itโs quite chilly.โ
Elyse nodded. โSure, Iโll have some.โ
Edward nodded, motioning for them to sit. Once settled, he leaned forward, eagerness in his eyes. โSo, for the free performance piece in the preliminary round, which piece do you choose?โ
Elyse, about to take a sip of water, choked.
