Chapter 208:
During dinner, Jayden informed Elyse that the unidentified elderly woman had been moved to a prestigious nursing home. Her mental state had improved, though she still couldn't recognize anyone; she was emotionally stable. "The nursing home provides the optimal environment for her," Jayden said, serving Elyse as he spoke.
Recalling the woman's earlier comments at the hospital, Elyse asked, confused, "Who are Rickey and Janet? Have there been any updates?"
Jayden shook his head. "Not yet. Despite a nationwide search, their names are relatively common, making it difficult to narrow down the search. The investigation is ongoing."
"That's quite a challenge," Elyse replied, frowning thoughtfully. "I plan to visit the nursing home in a few days. Perhaps she can provide some insight."
Jayden nodded. After dinner, he received a call and went to his study. Elyse sat cautiously on the sofa. As Jayden disappeared, she exhaled in relief.
She silently hoped he wouldn't spend the entire night in his study. Later, she watched TV and then practiced the violin. By 10 PM, she was tired. Just as she was falling asleep, Jayden entered the bedroom.
Seeing Elyse drifting off, Jayden smiled faintly. "Did I give you permission to retire for the night?"
Elyse shivered, pulling the blanket tighter. "I've had a long day. Sleep seems like the best option," she replied playfully.
Despite her protest, Jayden switched off the light and approached her, grinning. Elyse pulled the blanket tighter as he leaned in, his touch gentle but insistent. He whispered, "Be proactive tonight, and I might just release you."
Elyse felt another chill, biting her lip, unwilling to respond given his lack of credibility.
"You're quite the rebel, aren't you? Well then, perhaps you need a lesson," Jayden teased, his eyes on her flushed cheeks.
He slipped his hand under the blanket, his cold, calloused fingers caressing her waist. Seeing her tremble, he grinned, enjoying her reaction.
Elyse tried to escape, but Jayden pulled her back, pinning her to the bed. Startled, she screamed, but Jayden remained calm. "Thinking of running away? Do you truly believe you can escape?"
"No, no, I don't want this," Elyse said, curling up, sensing Jayden's desire. Remembering their recent encounters, she noticed her sore waist.
"Do you really think you have the right to refuse?" Jayden cupped her face, kissing her forehead. "That's my good girl. Let me show you how much I adore you."
Elyse was speechless. "I feel so helpless, being toyed with," she whispered, shielding her cheeks.
Raising an eyebrow, Jayden spanked her. "And what else can you do? Turn around."
Elyse obeyed. She then remembered Jayden's immobile legs and how he looked in bed. A desire to know more surged within her.
As she turned, Jayden noticed her glance. He shifted, reclining fully on her. "If you're hesitant to turn around, then let's make the most of this position."
"What do you mean?" Elyse, annoyed and embarrassed, playfully hit him.
Jayden chuckled, continuing his actions. Then, his phone buzzed.
Elyse stopped and pushed him gently. "Your phone is ringing. Someone's trying to reach you."
"Let it be," Jayden insisted, continuing. His nonchalance frustrated Elyse, but she reluctantly acquiesced.
The ringing persisted. Jayden, unable to ignore it, answered. "Hello?"
"Jayden, I'm at the bar. I'm not feeling well. Can you come and get me?" A woman's sweet, intimate voice filled the phone. Elyse sobered, the woman's voice cutting through the passion.
"It's you," Jayden recognized the voice, his expression darkening as he looked at Elyse. ...
