Chapter 1041:
Louise shook her head. โThere has to be a reason. You might not see it yet.โ
Elyse looked visibly perplexed, a rare sight.
Seeing Elyseโs puzzlement, Louise cleared her throat. โDo you need some emotional guidance? As a princess adept in matters of the heart, Iโm here to help.โ
Elyse opened the door. โI appreciate it, but please, I need some time alone to rest.โ
Louise gave Elyse a look of reluctant disapproval before exiting, clearly frustrated. She couldnโt fathom why Elyse would reject her offer of support.
After Louise left, Elyse exhaled deeply and trudged off to wash up, feeling drained. After her shower, lying in bed, she finally allowed herself to mull over Louiseโs question. What exactly did she find appealing about Jayden? He wasnโt the easiest person to love. What did she truly admire about him?
After some thought, her head began to throb, and she decided to put the matter aside. The following morning, Elyse grabbed her violin and made her way to the concert hall, where she unexpectedly encountered Fiona.
Fiona, clad in the staff uniform, was busily managing a wooden box backstage. Elyse was puzzled. Did Fiona have an ulterior motive for her involvement?
Fiona noticed Elyseโs scrutinizing gaze. She hadnโt anticipated Elyse noticing her so soon. With a stern expression, she glanced over and asked irritably, โWhat are you staring at?โ
Elyse folded her arms. โI was just reflecting on how deep your fixation with the Swan Cup is. The competition has ended, yet here you are, still volunteering.โ
Fiona took Elyseโs comments as a deep insult. Had Kaelyn assigned her a new task, she wouldnโt have been trapped there.
โDo your best. Iโll leave you alone,โ said Elyse, turning away.
Fiona was infuriated, clenching her teeth, but powerless to alter the situation. Her only recourse was to continually message Kaelyn. Since the night before, Kaelyn hadnโt replied.
Gazing at her phone screen, Fiona cursed, โHow annoying! She must be off with some guy now!โ
Frustrated, she stowed her phone away and returned to her volunteer duties.
