Chapter 560

"Let's go," Sophia said with a smile, beckoning Henry with her finger. She walked away with fluid grace, no longer showing the pain she'd displayed earlier.

Outside the family compound, Odalys coldly watched Sophia leave in a cab, her gaze lingering for a moment before she looked away. A young police officer approached, saying politely, "Ms. Stone, Finnian wants to see you one last time."

Even without Lee present, the police remained respectful towards Odalys. They knew she had a history of quickly solving cases, and her presence that day had saved not only Lee's wife and daughter but everyone in the compound.

"Do you want to see him?" Percival asked.

Odalys raised her eyebrows, her smile unwavering. "Yes, why not?" she said with a sneer.

She walked out; Percival opened a large black umbrella and walked beside her, shielding her from the heavy rain. The large raindrops hitting the umbrella created a pleasant sound. Odalys walked quickly, Percival following. Her skirt, billowing in the wind, was partially soaked, clinging beautifully to her leg.

A police car was parked nearby. As she approached, the window rolled down, revealing Finnian's indignant eyes. He stared at Odalys, then at Percival. Finnian clenched his fists, gritting his teeth.

"Speak," Odalys said coldly.

Finnian's hands were handcuffed; an officer pointed a gun at his waist, ready to shoot at any sudden movement.

"Did you set me up? You knew all along, didn't you? You deliberately pressured Sophia to contact me, then cleverly let the police discover my existence," Finnian said, his voice trembling slightly. "You told me the Love Spell could save me, and you wanted me to contact Sophia, right?" he asked indignantly.

Odalys laughed. "Yes," she replied succinctly.

Finnian expected a pretense, but she offered none. "That Love Spell has no effect on me, right?" Hatred filled Finnian's eyes.

Odalys calmly nodded. "Yes."

"Why?" Finnian roared, feeling like a fool, manipulated by Odalys. He was cornered, yet she remained indifferent, showing no intention of saving him.

Odalys said coldly, "Your being under the Love Spell is one thing. The fact is, you're narrow-minded and vicious. Even without my help, you wanted to kill Orson and take his place. You wanted to team up with Sophia to force me into the Stewart family, then punish me. You planned to marry me with the Stewart family's fortune after Percival died. You wanted to kill me and gain everything without lifting a finger. How dare you even think about it? Unfortunately, you miscalculated. The Stewart family isn't hell; you are the devils."

Finnian gritted his teeth, speechless.

"After you fell under the Love Spell, I willingly let you go to Sophia for it. The plan was executed. Don't you think? Besides, I told you to find the Love Spell, but I didn't tell you to find a killer on the dark web. It's fine that you die. Yet you wanted to drag others down with you? You should have died a long time ago," Odalys said indifferently.

Finnian couldn't stir a single ripple in her heart. A person like him didn't deserve to live.

"Odalys, I'm going to kill you. You lied to me!" Finnian yelled, forgetting his vulnerability to water. He leaned out the car window, rain hitting his face. Fear flickered in his eyes. He questioned the truth of Odalys' words, but the moment his skin touched the water, he knew he was doomed.

The next second, a piercing pain struck. "Oh!" Finnian screamed, feeling his skin ripping open. The healed wound on his abdomen burst apart; blood oozed, and he looked at his disintegrating arm. "Oh, this is impossible! How could this be? Odalys, you bitch, save me!" he roared.

Odalys calmly watched his fear and pain with indifference.

"Ms. Stone, what's wrong with him?" the officer in the car was startled. They'd seen much, but nothing like this.

"Everything's fine. He's just dying," Odalys said.

The officer swallowed repeatedly.

"Don't worry, it's not contagious, and he's in no position to hurt anyone anymore," Odalys said, stepping back.

Finnian screamed in agony, regretting his impulsiveness. It confirmed Odalys wasn't lying. She'd warned him about the Love Spell; if he'd found it, he might have lived. But he hadn't listened.

The officer saluted Odalys. The police car window rolled up; the siren blared as the car sped away into the rain.

"I can't believe it's actually true," Orson said, shocked. When Odalys had mentioned it, he'd thought it nonsense, but he trusted her medical skills. Later, he'd found nothing unusual. Now, seeing Finnian's skin burst on contact with water, rotting into a bloody mess, he knew Odalys hadn't lied.

"It's all fate," Odalys said. "A bad person gets his comeuppance."

"If he'd found the Love Spell, could he have survived?" Orson asked.

Odalys nodded. "If he'd had no ambition and only wanted to survive, yes. Unfortunately, he wanted more than survival. He got involved with the dark web, killed people, and sought power. If he'd gained a foothold, the first person he'd target wouldn't be Sophia, but the Lark family. He planned to drag them down with him. You should be glad the Lark family severed ties with Finnian. Otherwise, they'd never clear their name."

Orson knew she was right, but fear still gripped him. He remembered Finnian's well-behaved demeanor when he was brought back to the Lark family, calling him "brother." He'd treated Finnian as a younger brother, despite his illegitimacy.
