Chapter 415

โ€œAlright,โ€ Percival nodded slightly and briskly exited the house, Callum close behind carrying a stack of documents. They moved quickly, their pace urgent. Several bodyguards followed, and three luxury cars sped toward the main road, engines roaring.

Odalys watched the disappearing cars, remaining motionless for a long time, her mind elsewhere.

โ€œAre you worried about him?โ€ Evanderโ€™s voice, low and calm, came from behind her.

She hadnโ€™t heard him approach, but he now stood beside her, sharing her gaze. Percivalโ€™s car was a distant speck, soon lost to the horizon. Evander slowly turned his head, his expression thoughtful.

โ€œHe didnโ€™t look well last night. I suspect heโ€™s been consulting Orson, seeking drugs to suppress his rapid pulse. His pulse seems normal, but in reality, his body is deteriorating rapidly. I need to find the right herbs quickly, or the poison I sealed in his body will resurface, and next time, it might kill him,โ€ Odalys explained calmly, as if discussing something trivial.

But Evander heard the worry beneath her composed tone. She wasnโ€™t unconcerned.

โ€œDo you need me to help find the herbs?โ€ Evander asked after a pause. โ€œOr is there anything else I can do?โ€

Odalys shook her head, her expression serious.

โ€œNo. Iโ€™ve already found someone. But you, Evander, must stay put. Donโ€™t go anywhere, not even for a short trip. If anyone asks, refuse them. No exceptions.โ€ Her voice was firm, her eyes meeting his.

Dorian, who had been quietly listening nearby, seemed to shrink back slightly, unease evident.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Mrs. Stewart. Iโ€™ll make sure Evander stays home. No outside contact. Iโ€™ll keep a close watch on him,โ€ Dorian quickly assured her. Evander sighed, shaking his head. โ€œI donโ€™t need monitoring. Iโ€™ve already been cutting down on socializing. Iโ€™m not seeing anyone and wonโ€™t be going anywhere.โ€

โ€œGood.โ€ Odalysโ€™s shoulders relaxed, and the tension eased.

She grabbed her canvas bag and headed for the door. Without another word, she entered her car and drove off. Her mind raced with thoughts of last nightโ€™s negative energy at the Bennett Villa and the energy field at the Simpson Villa.

Her phone vibrated, interrupting her thoughts. It was an unfamiliar numberโ€”a call she knew was from someone in the Bennett family, and she immediately hung up. She didn't need to answer.

The Bennett family was in turmoil. The only reason theyโ€™d contact her now was to beg for help or manipulate herโ€”emotional blackmail, draining her of what little she had left.

But she wasnโ€™t the same woman anymore. If every last one of them were to perish, she wouldnโ€™t lose a second of sleep. She wouldnโ€™t lift a finger to help.

Her foot slammed on the accelerator, her anger boiling over as she rounded a sharp corner. A car appeared unexpectedly, and she barely avoided a collision, swerving and braking hard.

The tires screeched as the Mercedes halted beside the road. She turned to see Henry, disheveled and exhausted, his face swollen and bearing marks of fatigue, limping toward her. Dark circles underscored his eyes.

Odalys said nothing. She opened the car door, her movement swift and decisive. She stepped forward and kicked him hard in the stomach.

โ€œHenry, are you out of your mind? Is it because I didnโ€™t beat you hard enough last time? Youโ€™re itching for another round?โ€ Odalysโ€™s voice was sharp, laced with fury.

Henry barely reacted to the kick, seemingly too numb to feel it. Only after she finished yelling did he look up at her, his gaze complicated. His lips trembled before he spoke, his voice strained. โ€œYou have a way to save me, donโ€™t you?โ€

โ€œYou left the Bennett family because you knew it was going down, didnโ€™t you? You left in a hurry because you saw the signs, right?โ€ Henry continued rapidly. โ€œNow, look at us. Everyone in the Bennett family is in trouble. None of us are untouched. Except for you. You knew this would happen, but you didnโ€™t warn us. Why? Weโ€™re family, Odalys. Even if I treated you poorly before, isnโ€™t saving a life a good deed?โ€

He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. โ€œIโ€™m giving you a chance to save me. Just this one time. Help me, and youโ€™ll have a debt to collect.โ€ His voice was almost demanding, as though it were a privilege for her to be offered the opportunity.

Odalys was so infuriated she almost laughed. She shook her head in disbelief. The audacity of this man was beyond words.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry,โ€ she said coldly, her voice cutting. โ€œI donโ€™t need any such opportunities.โ€

Henry didnโ€™t give up. He blocked her path as she turned to leave.

โ€œWait!โ€ he called desperately. โ€œYou saved Caspian last night, didnโ€™t you? So you canโ€™t just stand by and let us all fall apart. If youโ€™re willing to help him, why not help us? Weโ€™re family!โ€

He swallowed hard, his voice tinged with suspicion. โ€œEdie married me, and now sheโ€™s part of the Bennett family. But I have doubts. I think sheโ€™s got ulterior motives. I think sheโ€™s trying to harm us.โ€

Odalys laughed again, incredulous.

โ€œReally, Henry? Do you even hear yourself?โ€ she said sarcastically. โ€œYouโ€™re the one who used her to get into the Stewart familyโ€™s good graces. You thought sheโ€™d open doors for you, but sheโ€™s failed. Now, the Bennett family is in chaos, and youโ€™re looking for someone to blame.โ€

She met his eyes sharply. โ€œYou canโ€™t even get into the Simpson family, and now youโ€™re regretting your quick marriage, suspecting sheโ€™s using you? Funny how that works.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re the one whoโ€™s been using her from the start,โ€ she continued, her voice growing colder. โ€œYouโ€™ve been playing your own game. Just like when you tried to ruin me online. If it werenโ€™t for my luck, you wouldโ€™ve succeeded. I shouldโ€™ve been buried in online harassment, and you wouldโ€™ve been the reason. Donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve forgotten that.โ€

Her eyes narrowed. โ€œYouโ€™re selfish, Henry. Youโ€™re unworthy of any help. Donโ€™t even think about asking for my mercy. You were the one who pushed me to the edge, and now you think I owe you something?โ€

Henry opened his mouth, but Odalys wasnโ€™t finished. Henryโ€™s face twisted with anger. โ€œOdalys!โ€ he shouted, his patience breaking. He charged at her, reaching out to grab her.

But Odalys reacted faster. She lifted her foot and slammed it into his stomach with all her strength. There was a sickening thud as his body flew backward, crashing into a nearby tree. Henry staggered, gasping for breath, his chest heaving. Blood sprayed from his mouth, and he collapsed, clutching his ribs.
