Chapter 0364

The next morning, I woke with another beaming smile on my face. My lower belly still radiated warmth, a delicious reminder of the nightโ€™s activities. We had made love well into the night after the party ended, repeatedly, until we were both sore. Sunlight streamed through the curtains, and my eyes fell upon my pink party dress hanging on the closet door. It was miraculously intact, despite Noahโ€™s feral passion the previous night. Weโ€™d barely made it back to the room before he was growling in my ear and ripping it off.

I rolled over, reaching for him, but found his side of the bed empty and cool. Frowning, I sat up, wrapping the sheet around me as I looked around the room. โ€œNoah?โ€ I called out, but there was no response.

Slipping on a robe, I went downstairs to the kitchen. The aroma of fresh coffee filled the air, and I found Ana bustling about, cleaning up leftover platters and bowls from the party.

โ€œGood morning, Luna,โ€ she greeted me with a warm smile. โ€œWould you like some breakfast?โ€

โ€œMorning, Ana,โ€ I replied, stifling a yawn. โ€œJust coffee for now, thanks. Have you seen Noah?โ€

Ana nodded as she poured me a steaming cup. โ€œAlpha Noah left early this morning. He didnโ€™t say where he was going, just that he had some important business to attend to.โ€

I took the coffee gratefully, my mind instantly focusing on Zoe. Heโ€™d said he would talk to her today, and I had a feeling thatโ€™s exactly what he was doing. My heart fluttered at the thought. That he had actually listened to me and was taking actionโ€ฆ it made me love him even more.

The day passed slowly, and I didnโ€™t see Noah all afternoon. I tried to keep busy preparing the speech I intended to give my parents when we inevitably discussed combining Nightcrest and Silvermoon, but my thoughts kept drifting to him, wondering how his conversation with Zoe was going. By evening, I was a bundle of nerves.

It was late when I finally heard the front door open. I jumped from the couch where Iโ€™d been pretending to read, my heart pounding. โ€œNoah!โ€ I called out, hurrying to the foyer.

There he was, looking tired but handsome as ever in his suit. I moved to kiss him, a smile spreading across my face. โ€œI missed you today. How did everythingโ€”โ€

But as my hands reached him, Noah shoved me away roughly, as if Iโ€™d burned him. I gasped, stumbling backward so hard that my back hit the wall.

โ€œWhat the hell?!โ€ I snarled, wincing. โ€œWhy did you do that?โ€

As I looked up at him, a chill ran down my spine. His eyes were cold and icy, nothing like the warm, loving gaze Iโ€™d grown accustomed to. There was no trace of the man who had made love to me in the moonlight just hours before. Instead, his face was a mask of anger andโ€ฆ was that hatred?

It was then that I noticed the papers in his hand. My stomach dropped, a sense of dread washing over me. With a growl, he tossed them onto the nearby table. They scattered, and I caught glimpses of official-looking letterheads and blocks of text. โ€œNotice of Divorce,โ€ the papers read.

โ€œNoah?โ€ I whispered, my voice trembling.

His eyes met mine, cold and hard as steel. โ€œSign these,โ€ he growled, โ€œand get the hell out of my house.โ€
