Chapter 243

โ€œDrakeโ€”!โ€ โ€œHannah!โ€ Familiar voices cut through the chaos. I turned to see Viona, Amber, and Emma running towards us, tears streaming down their faces, their eyes wide with panic. They enveloped me in a hug, a flurry of worried questions overlapping. โ€œWe were so worriedโ€”,โ€ โ€œAre you okay?โ€ โ€œWhat happened?โ€

I hugged them back, overwhelmed by their sudden arrival. โ€œIโ€”Iโ€™m okay,โ€ I managed, my voice muffled against someoneโ€™s shoulder. โ€œThanks to them.โ€

As they pulled back, I nodded toward Drake and Noah. Noah was already being attended to by a paramedic; Drake stood nearby, gazing at the bodies scattered along the cliffside, his expression stony.

Before I could speak, a paramedic rushed over, wrapping a foil blanket around me and checking for injuries. Besides a cut and some blood on my leg from our fall, I was unharmedโ€”physically, at least.

The next twenty minutes were a blur of examinations and questions. Noah was surrounded by police and paramedics, but I could hear him talking, so I knew he was alright. โ€œYouโ€™ll have to spend the night in the hospital,โ€ the EMT said, checking my eyes for what felt like the millionth time. โ€œJust to be safe.โ€

I nodded, watching her leave. My gaze drifted to Drake, who remained apart from the others. Despite my friendsโ€™ protests, I rose on shaky legs and limped over to him. โ€œThank you,โ€ I said, hugging him tightly. โ€œFor everything.โ€

He held me close, his grip strong, before pulling back slightly. โ€œIโ€™m glad we found you,โ€ he murmured, his voice hoarse.

โ€œHow did you find us?โ€ I asked.

Drake glanced at Noah, who was still receiving medical attention. โ€œIt was Noah,โ€ he admitted. โ€œAs soon as he got your text, he knew something was wrong. He figured out where you might be and insisted we come looking for you immediately.โ€

I looked at Noah, surprised. Despite everything, heโ€™d come for me without hesitation. Watching him wince as a paramedic cleaned a cut on his arm, my heart softened.

But then my eyes fell on Zoe, standing alone in a sparkling red dress near a police car. There was a strange, unsettling flicker in her eyes when our gazes met. What was she doing here, dressed like that? And whyโ€ฆ?

Chapter 249

โ€œLuna?โ€ A police officerโ€™s voice pulled me from my thoughts. โ€œWe need to ask you some questions about what happened.โ€

I nodded, taking one last look at Zoe; she had walked away. โ€œOf course.โ€

As I recounted the nightโ€™s events, my mind kept returning to Noah. The way heโ€™d leaped to save me, risking his own life. The fear in his eyes. The gentleness with which heโ€™d held me as we hung from the cliff.

After giving my statement, I looked for Noah. He was being led to an ambulance, his arm in a fresh white sling.

โ€œHannah?โ€ Viona touched my arm. โ€œAre you sure youโ€™re okay? You look a little dazed.โ€

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. โ€œIโ€™m fine. Justโ€ฆexhausted.โ€

Amber hugged me again. โ€œWe were so scared when we got that text. I canโ€™t believe Jake was behind all of this.โ€

โ€œI still canโ€™t believe it myself,โ€ I admitted. โ€œIt all happened so fast.โ€

Viona, standing nearby, glanced at my belly with a questioning look. I nodded almost imperceptibly over Amberโ€™s shoulder, a silent reassurance that the baby was okay.

โ€œNoah really came through, didnโ€™t he?โ€ Emma asked.

โ€œYeah,โ€ I replied, my eyes on the ambulance where Noah sat. โ€œHe did.โ€
