Chapter 109

Hannah, Noah, and I stood before each other after the esthetician left, clutching our robes. We stared in shocked silence. Without a word, Noah started toward the bathroom. I stopped him, forcing a teasing lilt into my voice. "Don't tell me you're getting shy on me now."

Noah's jaw tightened slightly, but he said nothing, sighing as he began unfastening his tie. I watched, heat rising in my neck, as he unbuttoned his shirt, inch by inch revealing his broad chest. It had been so long since I'd been this vulnerable with Noah, fully nude. Even during intimate moments, I'd always worn lingerie. He hadn't seen me completely naked inโ€ฆ I couldn't remember. Too long. I abruptly dismissed the thought, my cheeks burning. Shaking my head, I quickly undressed, refusing to let my mind wander.

Once undressed, I snatched the plush white robe, wrapping it hastily around myself and fastening the sash. Looking up, Noah was shrugging into his own robe, his expression unreadable. "That's better," I said with mock lightness.

Noah remained silent.

A few minutes later, the estheticians returned with a second massage table, placing it beside the first. Noah gestured for me to go first, requiring me to disrobe again in front of them. They were professionals, so it didn't bother me. But Noahโ€ฆ I felt his eyes on my body, even though he tried to conceal it. And I couldn't help but think of that moment at the picnicโ€ฆ No. Control yourself, Hannah.

I dropped my robe and climbed onto the table, keeping my expression neutral. From the corner of my eye, I saw Noah mimic my movements, his robe falling to reveal something thick, warm, and utterly delightful. My breath hitched. Goddess, I needed to get a grip. The longer I stared, the more obvious my unfamiliarity would become. We couldn't risk more rumors.

The massages began, and thankfully, I relaxed. My esthetician worked with practiced ease, her hands deft and skilled. My muscles uncoiled in places I hadn't realized I'd been holding tension, and I knew I needed this.

Thenโ€ฆ "Nnghโ€ฆ" A low groan broke the silence.

I tensed, my eyes snapping open in surprise as sensations unrelated to the massage sparked low in my belly. Noahโ€ฆ that rich, rumbling sound had come from him. I shifted, rolling my head to see him better. Noah's eyes were closed, his jaw slack as he lay on the table. Another soft moan escaped his lips as his massage therapist worked a tight spot around his shoulders, and I felt the urge to wriggle against the sudden heat blooming in my belly.

Goddess help me, the sounds of his moans were intoxicating, arousing in a way I hadn't felt in so long. I found myself drifting into a fantasyโ€ฆ those moans over me, in tandem with mineโ€ฆ his muscular shouldersโ€ฆ his narrow hips movingโ€ฆ

Noticing my discomfort, my therapist cleared her throat. "Is everything to your liking, Luna Hannah?" she asked.

Grateful for the interruption, I buried my face in my arms to hide my blush and nodded. "Yes," I replied. "It's perfect."

We spent the rest of the evening receiving celebrity treatment. After our massages, our bodies practically slathered in oils, we were given samples of the spa's signature soaps and salts, instructed to shower without wetting our hair.

The warm water felt good, the scent of the soaps even more relaxing than anticipatedโ€”washing away my dirty fantasies. I felt like a new woman afterward.

But the night wasn't over. Next came our facials. We lay face-up, our faces exfoliated, smothered in lotions, and massaged until every pore felt delightfully empty.

"My goodness, Luna Hannah," my esthetician mused, working my skin. "You have lovely glass skin. It's absolutely flawless."

I smiled; my skin was my crowning glory. I may have once considered myself fat, and now I was too thin, but my skinโ€ฆ my skin was always beautiful.

Before I could reply, Noah cleared his throat. "She has quite the skincare routine," he said, not unkindly. He paused. "She does have beautiful skin."

Next were our hair treatments. We each received deep conditioning treatments followed by scalp massages. Noah's haircut was firstโ€”his hair was short, so it didn't take longโ€”and I watched as the stylist deftly trimmed and styled his hair into a swept-back look. He looked even more handsome, and I had to look away to hide my awe.

Chapter 111

Finally, it was my turn. I sat before the vanity as my stylist worked, carefully trimming and layering my hair. She kept my usual style but added subtle curtain bangs, making me feel like a model. Noah watched from behind, his eyes occasionally meeting mine in the mirror. I wanted to believe he enjoyed watching his wife being made even more beautiful, butโ€ฆ I knew he was simply entranced by my stylist's methodical movements.

"Hmm," my stylist said softly, pinching a strand of hair. "Your hair is quite dry, Luna. You may need another treatment."

I laughed. "It's been bleached within an inch of its life," I admitted.

My stylist frowned. "But your hair is naturally blonde, isn't it? Why bleach it more?"

Pausing, I glanced in the mirror and met Noah's gaze. His jaw was tight, his face devoid of emotion. I had, after all, traded my beautiful honey blonde hair for platinum since our marriage. All so I could look more like Zoe.

Taking a deep breath, I said in a sickly sweet voice, "My husband always preferred the bleached blonde look," I said with a dismissive wave.

The stylist chuckled, and I did as wellโ€”but I glanced back at Noah, secretly hoping my words had hurt him, even a little. But when I looked again, he was gone.
