Chapter 722 Demand Justice

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

โ€œAll right.โ€ Benjamin freed one hand and took mine in his. โ€œIโ€™ll always be on your side.โ€

I could feel his strength flowing into me; Hera, my wolf, was practically buzzing with joy and energy inside me. Benjamin truly was my destined mate. In moments like this, he always managed to give me exactly what I needed.

The car rolled to a stop in front of the Sanders Residence. We got out together and rang the doorbell at the front gate. An Omega house staff member hurried out, standing behind the iron bars. She glanced at me, then unlocked the gate from inside.

โ€œMs. Michelle, youโ€™re back,โ€ she greeted me with a respectful smile.

โ€œYou know who I am?โ€ I was certain Iโ€™d never been here before, let alone introduced myself.

โ€œOf course! Everyone in the house knows you were found. Mr. Sander announced it himself in front of us all. He even showed us your photo and told us to remember your face, to treat you with the same respect we show Ms. Freya. Mr. Sander is really attentive when it comes to you.โ€ The house staff chatted as she led us inside.

For a moment, I didnโ€™t know how to respond. Benjamin, still holding my hand, picked up the conversation for me. โ€œDid Mr. Sander give any other instructions?โ€

โ€œOh, absolutely,โ€ the house staff replied enthusiastically. โ€œNot only did Mr. Sander have Ms. Michelleโ€™s room completely renovated, but he also had the kitchen update the menu to match her old favorites, just in case she decided to come home anytime. By the way, since Ms. Michelle is back, youโ€™ll stay for a meal, right? If thereโ€™s anything youโ€™d like, Iโ€™ll notify the kitchen right away.โ€

โ€œThat wonโ€™t be necessary. We just need to say a few words and then weโ€™ll be heading backโ€“Mrs. Sander is waiting for her,โ€ Benjaminโ€™s tone was gentle.

โ€œHaha, Ms. Michelle really is closer to Mrs. Sander. Still, Mr. Sander is a good fatherโ€“itโ€™s hard to forget that. I see him eating alone every day, and itโ€™s a little sad. Ms. Michelle, if you have time, you should come visit more often,โ€ the house staff reminded me.

โ€œWeโ€™ll take care of those things ourselves,โ€ Benjamin replied for me, his patience unwavering. He didnโ€™t reveal his Alpha status, but the quiet strength he carried was enough to make the Omega house staff instinctively show respect and even a bit of fear.

After that, the house staff bowed her head in apology. โ€œYes, Mr. Southwell, youโ€™re right. I spoke out of turn.โ€ She gestured to the sofa. โ€œMs. Michelle, Mr. Southwell, please wait here. Iโ€™ll go get Mr. Sander.โ€

With that, she turned to go find Alan.

โ€œJust call Freya down. I know sheโ€™s home,โ€ I instructed before she could leave. Iโ€™d already checked Freyaโ€™s location before comingโ€“she was definitely here. Besides, Hera had already caught her scent.

At my command, the house staff obediently changed course and headed upstairs to find Freya. She hadnโ€™t been gone long when, instead of Freya, Alan came down from upstairs. He walked slowly down the steps and greeted us.

โ€œYouโ€™re back?โ€ Alan asked. โ€œHowโ€™s Peter doing?โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s in a coma. How good could he possibly be?โ€ My tone was sharp.

โ€œRight.โ€ Alan sighed, lifting his eyes to meet mine. โ€œSo, what brings you here to see Freya?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m here to demand justice for Peter.โ€ I didnโ€™t bother with small talk.

โ€œYou mustโ€™ve come because your mom said a few things to you,โ€ Alan said, lowering his head and waving his hand dismissively. โ€œItโ€™s all just baseless speculation. Thereโ€™s no real evidence. Donโ€™t take it to heart.โ€

His indifference made my blood boil; Hera roared in fury inside me.

โ€œIf I canโ€™t trust my own mother, who am I supposed to trust? Should I trust an outsider, like you do?โ€ I shot back coldly.

โ€œNonsense! There are no outsiders in this family!โ€ Alanโ€™s face darkened immediately, clearly displeased. โ€œFreya and youโ€“youโ€™re both my daughters. Thereโ€™s no difference.โ€

I had no interest in arguing with him. I brushed past the sofa and headed straight for the stairs.

โ€œWhat do you think youโ€™re doing!โ€ Alan suddenly stood up, his voice sharp. โ€œAre you really going to fight your own sister right in front of me?!โ€
