Chapter 613: No Time to Waste
Virginiaโs POV:
Hayley was clearly not telling me the truth. That was the Alpha King! Thereโs no way he would drop everything to help an unfamiliar Omega. And judging by his gentle demeanor toward Hayley, their relationship was much closer than she let on. However, Hayley is my daughter, and weโve only recently reconnected. Itโs natural for her to withhold certain things from me due to a lack of trust. I didnโt want to create a rift by pushing her for answers. Watching the formidable hospital gates slowly open, I clutched my coat tightly. With Michelle back, it felt like there was hope for the Sanders family once again.
Hayleyโs POV:
Under Samsonโs lead, not only did Virginia and I gain entry, but so did Benjaminโs men. Roy seemed to have gotten wind of our arrival and intercepted us at the inpatient departmentโs entrance. โAlpha King, what an honor to have you here!โ Roy greeted with a sycophantic smile, extending his hand to Samson in an attempt to ingratiate himself. Samson glared down at him coldly, leaving his hand hanging in the air. He simply asked, โWhere are Alan and Peterโs wards?โ
โWellโฆโ Roy awkwardly withdrew his hand, looking troubled. โAlpha, our hospital has a strict policy. Without the patientโs familyโs consent, outsiders arenโt allowed to visit.โ Samson turned to me and asked, โDo you consent?โ โOf course,โ I said coolly. Samson nodded and then addressed his men, โSearch the place.โ With that command, a dozen high-ranking Beta enforcers rushed into the inpatient building. The hospital security staff, armed with guns, were quickly overpowered by Samsonโs men, their weapons confiscated. Within five minutes, Freya and Daniel were dragged out, looking disheveled. โAlpha, we found them. When we got in, the oxygen tubes were already disconnected. These two were in the room at the time,โ reported one of Samsonโs men.
โWhat!?โ Virginia gasped, nearly fainting upon hearing that Alan and Peterโs oxygen had been cut off. โTheyโve been dependent on those machines for years. Suddenly disconnecting the oxygen is a death sentence!โ she explained to me, tears welling up in her eyes. โWeโve already called for emergency help!โ said the same man, pausing to glare angrily at Roy. โA hospital this big without a qualified doctor on duty? This is playing with patientsโ lives!โ As soon as he finished speaking, Virginia bolted into the inpatient building, screaming, โAlan, Peter, Iโm here! Hold on!โ
Samson shot Roy a piercing look. โYouโre really something.โ I was about to follow Virginia when Samson called out again, โHayley, come here and explain whatโs going on.โ โThereโs no time,โ I urged. โWe need to save them first!โ I darted into the building, sprinting up the stairs with Benjamin following close behind. We arrived to find Virginia sobbing uncontrollably over Alanโs body. โAlan, hang on! The doctors are coming.โ โDonโt leave me, donโt leave me and Michelle. Our daughter is back. You canโt go now!โ Despite my strong resolve, the sight tugged at my heartstrings, bringing tears to my eyes. I paused at the doorway, staring at the two men lying on the hospital beds, feeling an indescribable pain. Though I had seen their photos on the computer, seeing them in person was a completely different experience. Hera, sensing the familiar scent emanating from them, had been on edge since we entered, worried for their well-being. โHayley,โ Benjaminโs voice snapped me back to reality. I quickly moved to Alanโs side, pulling out the needles I had prepared, and began performing needle therapy.
