Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 600: Iโ€™m Sorry

Tinaโ€™s POV:

I was jolted awake, my heart pounding as I looked at Hayley. Her commanding presence made the air feel thick and cold, sending a shiver down my spine. It hit me all at onceโ€”this girl wasnโ€™t just an Omega. Her mind was sharp, calculating, and cold as ice. There was far more to her than met the eye, and whatever that was, it was dangerous.

In the month since I first crossed paths with her, the Ortegas had lost everything. She was a force to be reckoned with, and the power she held was terrifying. But despite everything, I had no choice. If there was any hope for my son now, it was in her hands.

Pride had always been my shield, but in that moment, it shattered completely. I let go of every bit of dignity I had left. With a sob, I dropped to my knees on the hard floor. Scera, my noble wolf, howled in mourning from within.

โ€œMs. Carson,โ€ I said, my voice shaky, โ€œeverything that happenedโ€ฆ you can blame my son and me. We were wrong. Iโ€™m sorry. I hope you can forgive usโ€ฆ Please, give my son a chance. Heโ€™ll change, he will!โ€ I lowered my head, pleading desperately.

Hayleyโ€™s eyes remained cold, her expression unwavering. โ€œItโ€™s too late,โ€ she said, her tone final. โ€œI gave you chancesโ€”at the car dealership, at the police station, even after Jonah was saved. He could have changed, become a better person. But he didnโ€™t.โ€

โ€œTina,โ€ she said sharply, her voice cutting through the air, โ€œwhen youโ€™ve done so much wrong, thereโ€™s always a cost to pay.โ€

It was clear nowโ€”she wasnโ€™t going to let us off the hook easily. โ€œIsnโ€™t the fall of the Ortegas enough for you?โ€ I yelled, frustration and desperation taking over. โ€œYouโ€™ve taken our money, our reputation, everything. Now, we have nothing left but our lives. Canโ€™t you have just a little mercy?โ€ I pleaded, my voice breaking. โ€œWhy are you being so cruel?!โ€

โ€œDo you want the entire Ortega family to perish just to make up for what weโ€™ve done?โ€ I continued, my words tumbling out. โ€œHave you considered what will happen when the Ortegas fall? Without leadership, the rogues will flood the packs. The city will be thrown into chaos, and it will affect your Shadow Pack and even Benjaminโ€™s Midnight Pack!โ€ I kept pleading, trying everything.

She still didnโ€™t look at me. Instead, she glanced at Benjamin and said softly, โ€œIโ€™m tired.โ€

โ€œAlright,โ€ Benjamin replied simply, his voice low, giving a brief nod. He looked at me for a moment, then motioned to the door. โ€œTake her out.โ€

โ€œI wonโ€™t go!โ€ I fought back with all my strength. โ€œI wonโ€™t leave unless Hayley promises to save my son! Iโ€™ll die here first!โ€

In my desperation, my eyes landed on a nearby cabinet. A surge of panic filled me, and with a burst of adrenaline, I broke free from their grasp. I collided with the sharp edge of the cabinet. Pain shot through me, and I gasped as I felt my bones protest. A cry escaped me, and tears blurred my vision. Blood streamed down from my forehead as I clutched at the wound, struggling to stay on my feet.

I opened my eyes slowly, my gaze locking onto Hayley, who sat unmoved on the sofa. With all the strength I could muster, I forced the words out, โ€œIf you donโ€™t save my son, Iโ€™ll die right here!โ€

The room was deathly quiet. I stared at Hayley, challenging her to say something, anything. After what felt like an eternity, she finally exhaled, her face unreadable. Her voice, colder than the room itself, rang out.

โ€œThen go ahead and die.โ€

My eyes widened in shock. I couldnโ€™t believe what I was hearing. How could anyone be so heartless? My mind raced. Maybe she didnโ€™t mean it. Maybe she was trying to intimidate me, scare me into backing down.

I swallowed hard, the pain in my forehead fading into the background. My fear of dying was overwhelming, but nothing scared me more than the thought of watching my son die. If it came to a choice, I wouldnโ€™t choose my own life.

With that resolve, I took one last look at Hayley, then bolted for the door.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

A few minutes later, one of the Beta warriors returned with a grim report. โ€œThat woman went outside, found a handgun, and shot herself.โ€
