Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 589: Not Dare to Move or Speak

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

Grandpa held both our hands with surprising strength, his face serious as he said, โ€œIโ€™m getting too oldโ€ฆ I canโ€™t handle the family business anymore. You two need to take charge from here on.โ€

Benjamin gave a reassuring smile, responding firmly, โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Mr. Carson. Hayley has me by her side.โ€

Grandpa gave a small nod, and that was the end of the discussion.

โ€œDad, you canโ€™t just back out like this! At leastโ€”โ€ Justin started to push the issue, but Benjaminโ€™s sharp, focused gaze shifted toward him. In an instant, Justin froze, paralyzed with fear. He didnโ€™t dare to move or speak.

Justinโ€™s POV:

As I watched them head toward the backyard, my anger flared, my eyes burning with frustration. If I werenโ€™t just a low-ranking Omega, I wouldโ€™ve loved to show Benjamin his place for interfering with the Carson familyโ€™s matters. What right did he have to get involved?

But noโ€”if I wanted what I believed was mine, I had to play the game ruthlessly, or this outsider would destroy everything Iโ€™d hoped for. I quickly seized the opportunity to search the house. I scoured every room, checked every hidden corner. But I found nothing.

Had my parents not brought over the gold bars, the jewels, or the bank cards? If they were still back at the Carson Manor in Shadow Pack, I wouldnโ€™t dare go back to searchโ€”after all, that place was heavily guarded by Beta warriors.

Frustrated, I kept looking. Finally, I came across an old wooden box. The old man had hidden it well. Did he honestly think I didnโ€™t know the extent of what the Carsons were hiding?

Just as I was about to open the box, I heard footsteps approachingโ€”it was Benjamin and Hayley returning!

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

When Benjamin and I walked back in, we didnโ€™t exchange any words. We simply made our way to the couch and sat down. Benjamin began to leisurely prepare me a cup of coffee.

Moments later, his assistant, Tyrone, entered, accompanied by several tall Beta bodyguards. Justin, seeing them, rushed to the corner in fear. โ€œYou actually called people over! Iโ€™ll call the police! If you take me forcefully, you wonโ€™t get away with it!โ€

Benjamin didnโ€™t flinch. He took a sip of his tea and responded coolly, โ€œIf we deal with you fast enough, no one will even know. Besides, do you honestly think the police here would dare to lay a finger on an Alpha like me?โ€

Benjamin nodded toward Tyrone. Tyrone gestured toward the bodyguards. โ€œDo it.โ€ The men swiftly moved in, expertly restraining Justin. He screamed once, but they quickly bound and gagged him. Despite their efforts, Justin kept struggling and whimpering.

I couldnโ€™t hold back any longer. I walked over, took a silver needle from my pocket, and jabbed it into the side of his neck. Immediately, he passed out. I turned back to Benjamin and shrugged. โ€œNow itโ€™s quiet. Youโ€™re too soft.โ€

Benjamin smiled. โ€œIโ€™ll be more careful next time.โ€

โ€œWhat do you plan to do with him?โ€ I asked.

โ€œWeโ€™ll keep an eye on him for now,โ€ Benjamin replied. โ€œYour grandmother still cares for him, so we canโ€™t just make him vanish.โ€

I nodded, agreeing with his approach. There was no need to cause more stress for Grandma, especially considering her health. At this moment, dealing with Tina was the more urgent matter. Weโ€™d deal with Justin properly when the time was right.

Virginiaโ€™s POV:

As I approached the front door, I saw Justin being dragged away by the bodyguards. โ€œWhatโ€™s going on?โ€ I asked, pretending to be oblivious.

โ€œNothing,โ€ Hayley replied flatly. โ€œMrs. Virginia, you should stay here with Grandpa for now and avoid going outside.โ€

โ€œAlright,โ€ I said, handing her a bowl of hot chicken soup I had spent the afternoon preparing. โ€œIโ€™ve been simmering it all afternoon. Try it and see how it tastes.โ€

Hayley glanced at me, paused for a moment, then took the bowl. โ€œOkay,โ€ she said, sipping from it. โ€œItโ€™s good. Just the right amount of salt. Very flavorful.โ€

โ€œI have some things to take care of,โ€ she continued. โ€œYou stay inside and make sure all the doors and windows are locked.โ€

She placed the bowl on the nearby table, exchanged a look with Benjamin, and they both walked out. Once they were gone, I quickly grabbed the bowl Hayley had just used. I had been watching her closely and knew exactly which side she had drunk from. So, I poured out the remaining soup from the other side. With the bowl in my hand, I rushed back to my room, my nerves on edge.
