Chapter 434: I Canโt Believe Youโre My Roommate
Hayleyโs POV:
A tall Beta girl stepped out of the bathroom. When her eyes landed on me, I didnโt detect even a trace of the usual scorn one might expect from an Omega. Instead, she smiled warmly and asked, โAre you my roommate?โ
I nodded and replied, โYes, I am!โ
She seemed intrigued and walked closer, noticing the mask I was wearing. Her brow furrowed slightly as she asked, โAre you sick? Why the mask?โ
I quickly explained, โNo, Iโm not sick. Itโs just more comfortable for me.โ
She didnโt press any further but instead introduced herself. โIโm Loretta Parsons. Whatโs your name?โ
โHayley Carson,โ I answered.
At the sound of my name, Lorettaโs eyes widened in surprise and excitement. โWait, are you the Hayley who won the tennis championship? The one who beat players ranked above you?โ
I nodded, slightly amused by her enthusiasm.
โOh, my god, this is amazing! I canโt believe youโre my roommate!โ Loretta exclaimed, wiping her damp hair out of her face. She grabbed her phone from the table and grinned at me. โYou wonโt believe itโone of my Omega friends absolutely adores you. She practically worships the ground you walk on!โ
As she spoke, Loretta quickly sent a voice message. โCome to my dorm. I have a new friend for you to meet.โ
Before long, there was a knock on the door, and a short-haired, no-nonsense girl walked in. She didnโt notice me immediately and asked Loretta, โLoretta, whoโs this new friend?โ
Then she looked up and saw me, her expression shifting to one of polite surprise. โHello!โ
Loretta beamed and pulled me closer, her voice lowering playfully. โDo you know who she is?โ
The girl looked puzzled, so Loretta added, โYour idol!โ
โWait, what?โ the girl said, still confused.
โHayley Carson!โ Loretta declared, โThe tennis champion you admire so much!โ
The girl blinked in disbelief, her eyes going wide. She gasped and took a deep breath. โYouโre Hayley Carson?โ
I smiled and nodded, greeting her warmly, โHello.โ
Her face lit up with excitement as she stammered, โI heard you applied to New College, but I never imagined weโd be in the same department! Hi, Iโm Willa Windrow, Lorettaโs childhood friend. We grew up in the same pack.โ
She extended her hand to me.
โItโs great to meet you!โ I shook her hand politely.
โGreat to meet you too!โ she responded enthusiastically. โNow that weโre at the same school, we can hang out, go to parties, or play sports together!โ
Loretta glanced at her bags scattered around the dorm and quickly apologized. โThese are all my things. I havenโt had the chance to organize yet. You donโt mind, right?โ
โItโs fine,โ I reassured her with a wave.
โDonโt worry. Iโll get everything sorted tomorrow. The dorm wonโt be so cramped after that,โ Loretta said, looking at Willa. โCan you give me a hand with this?โ
Since I had some free time, I decided to pitch in.
Loretta looked at me in surprise and gratitude. โThank you, Hayley!โ
I smiled warmly. โNo problem. Weโre roommates now. Itโs only right to help each other out.โ
I had been worried about adjusting to life here, but with a lively roommate like Loretta, I realized that maybe school wouldnโt be as dull as I feared.
โWe have a freshman party tonight in our department,โ Loretta said, pulling me toward the door. โLetโs go! We can meet some of the new students.โ
The party was at a small bar near campus. As we walked in, I was immediately taken aback by the vibrant atmosphere.
