Chapter 318: Surrender

I fired three shots directly at the same spot on the manโ€™s heart. He stared at me in disbelief, then collapsed, lifeless. His subordinates around him saw this and immediately raised their guns, aiming at me.

I calmly loaded my gun and coldly said, โ€œYou can try. Letโ€™s see whose speed is fasterโ€”yours or mine. Just a reminder. Thereโ€™s only one chance to make your choice, and only one life to live.โ€

As soon as I finished speaking, the men looked at each other, then dropped their guns and surrendered.

Moments later, hurried footsteps approached from outside. Thomas charged in with a group of beta warriors and asked, โ€œAlpha, are you alright?โ€

I shrugged. โ€œDo I look like Iโ€™m in trouble?โ€

Thomas finally noticed the scarred man lying on the ground and let out a relieved sigh. He quickly turned to me and explained, โ€œAlpha, I underestimated them. I didnโ€™t expect to be captured like this.โ€

โ€œTheir target wasnโ€™t you, it was me. They clearly came prepared, which means theyโ€™re no amateurs. We need to stay alert from now on.โ€ I wasnโ€™t blaming him, but offering a stern reminder.

โ€œUnderstood, Alpha. But the three million dollars are gone. They moved quickly, and we couldnโ€™t catch up,โ€ Thomas said, sounding frustrated.

Hearing that the money was gone, I instantly felt my anger flare. Three million dollars was enough to cover Drakon Clawโ€™s expenses for at least three months. I couldnโ€™t accept it to vanish just like that.

โ€œFind out where it went!โ€ I ordered angrily. โ€œThose dollars are coded. I want to know where it goes.โ€

โ€œYes, Alpha. Iโ€™ll start investigating right away,โ€ Thomas said, nodding respectfully.

Then, I signaled for my team to follow as we made our way out.

Thomasโ€™s POV:

I followed behind Alpha, ready to leave, when I suddenly noticed the scarred man on the ground move. Slowly, he twisted his arm and, inch by inch, reached for the gun. He aimed it at Alpha.

โ€œAlpha, watch out!โ€ I immediately pushed Alpha out of the way.

But because I couldnโ€™t shift into wolf form in the underground world, I wasnโ€™t able to block the bullet in time.

The bullet grazed Alphaโ€™s arm.

Seeing her injured, I was anxious and furious. Without thinking, I drew my gun and fired repeatedly, each shot fueled by my anger, until he took his last breath.

โ€œAlpha, are you okay?โ€ I asked quickly.

Alpha, still holding her injured arm, responded, โ€œIโ€™m fine. Letโ€™s get out of here first.โ€

Suddenly, a Gamma soldier entered to report. โ€œItโ€™s bad, Alpha. Weโ€™re surrounded! We donโ€™t know which underground organization it is, but it seems like they planned this. Every escape route is blocked!โ€

โ€œF*ck!โ€ I couldnโ€™t help but curse.

โ€œAlpha, you go ahead. Iโ€™ll hold them off. Leave these small fries to me. Donโ€™t worry, even if I canโ€™t shift into my wolf form, I can still handle them.โ€

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

The soldierโ€™s report weighed heavily on me.

If I hadnโ€™t been injured, I could have easily gotten away. But now, with my arm injured, it would be more difficult. In the underground world, not only can I not shift into my wolf form, but my wounds heal at a much slower rate as well.

After some thought, I quickly composed myself and ordered, โ€œThomas, weโ€™ll split up. You go through the front, and Iโ€™ll take the back. Find a way to break through and donโ€™t waste time fighting.โ€

Thomas nodded, โ€œUnderstood, Alpha. Take more people with you. Youโ€™re injured, so itโ€™ll be harder for you.โ€

โ€œI know. Letโ€™s go,โ€ I replied, leading a small group through the back.

As soon as we stepped outside, we were immediately surrounded by the enemy. However, it seemed the enemy wasnโ€™t aiming to kill us. The bullets whizzed by, narrowly missing.

But I wasnโ€™t interested in playing their game. I quickly drew my gun with my left hand and fired several shots, targeting their weak points. After firing, I led my team to break through the enemy lines.

We kept running, not pausing for a moment, when suddenly the sound of a motorcycle revving approached. It screeched to a halt right in front of me.

โ€œGet on!โ€

I froze for a second, stunned by the familiar face before me.

What was he doing here?
