Chapter 318: Surrender
I fired three shots directly at the same spot on the manโs heart. He stared at me in disbelief, then collapsed, lifeless. His subordinates around him saw this and immediately raised their guns, aiming at me.
I calmly loaded my gun and coldly said, โYou can try. Letโs see whose speed is fasterโyours or mine. Just a reminder. Thereโs only one chance to make your choice, and only one life to live.โ
As soon as I finished speaking, the men looked at each other, then dropped their guns and surrendered.
Moments later, hurried footsteps approached from outside. Thomas charged in with a group of beta warriors and asked, โAlpha, are you alright?โ
I shrugged. โDo I look like Iโm in trouble?โ
Thomas finally noticed the scarred man lying on the ground and let out a relieved sigh. He quickly turned to me and explained, โAlpha, I underestimated them. I didnโt expect to be captured like this.โ
โTheir target wasnโt you, it was me. They clearly came prepared, which means theyโre no amateurs. We need to stay alert from now on.โ I wasnโt blaming him, but offering a stern reminder.
โUnderstood, Alpha. But the three million dollars are gone. They moved quickly, and we couldnโt catch up,โ Thomas said, sounding frustrated.
Hearing that the money was gone, I instantly felt my anger flare. Three million dollars was enough to cover Drakon Clawโs expenses for at least three months. I couldnโt accept it to vanish just like that.
โFind out where it went!โ I ordered angrily. โThose dollars are coded. I want to know where it goes.โ
โYes, Alpha. Iโll start investigating right away,โ Thomas said, nodding respectfully.
Then, I signaled for my team to follow as we made our way out.
Thomasโs POV:
I followed behind Alpha, ready to leave, when I suddenly noticed the scarred man on the ground move. Slowly, he twisted his arm and, inch by inch, reached for the gun. He aimed it at Alpha.
โAlpha, watch out!โ I immediately pushed Alpha out of the way.
But because I couldnโt shift into wolf form in the underground world, I wasnโt able to block the bullet in time.
The bullet grazed Alphaโs arm.
Seeing her injured, I was anxious and furious. Without thinking, I drew my gun and fired repeatedly, each shot fueled by my anger, until he took his last breath.
โAlpha, are you okay?โ I asked quickly.
Alpha, still holding her injured arm, responded, โIโm fine. Letโs get out of here first.โ
Suddenly, a Gamma soldier entered to report. โItโs bad, Alpha. Weโre surrounded! We donโt know which underground organization it is, but it seems like they planned this. Every escape route is blocked!โ
โF*ck!โ I couldnโt help but curse.
โAlpha, you go ahead. Iโll hold them off. Leave these small fries to me. Donโt worry, even if I canโt shift into my wolf form, I can still handle them.โ
Hayleyโs POV:
The soldierโs report weighed heavily on me.
If I hadnโt been injured, I could have easily gotten away. But now, with my arm injured, it would be more difficult. In the underground world, not only can I not shift into my wolf form, but my wounds heal at a much slower rate as well.
After some thought, I quickly composed myself and ordered, โThomas, weโll split up. You go through the front, and Iโll take the back. Find a way to break through and donโt waste time fighting.โ
Thomas nodded, โUnderstood, Alpha. Take more people with you. Youโre injured, so itโll be harder for you.โ
โI know. Letโs go,โ I replied, leading a small group through the back.
As soon as we stepped outside, we were immediately surrounded by the enemy. However, it seemed the enemy wasnโt aiming to kill us. The bullets whizzed by, narrowly missing.
But I wasnโt interested in playing their game. I quickly drew my gun with my left hand and fired several shots, targeting their weak points. After firing, I led my team to break through the enemy lines.
We kept running, not pausing for a moment, when suddenly the sound of a motorcycle revving approached. It screeched to a halt right in front of me.
โGet on!โ
I froze for a second, stunned by the familiar face before me.
What was he doing here?
