Chapter 275: Avalanche
Christineโs POV:
โItโs nothing,โ he said, unwilling to say more. I didnโt press him further.
Although I knew I wasnโt great at skiing, I couldnโt help noticing the group of people gathered on the slope for a snowball fight. It looked fun, so I suggested, โHow about we join them for a snowball fight?โ
Christopher probably thought my idea was childish. He wrinkled his nose in distaste. โYou go ahead. Iโll stay here.โ
I sighed and decided to go alone. But whatโs a snowball fight without someone to play with? I felt frustrated.
Just then, a group of tall, burly men walked over and greeted me in a foreign language. โHey, beautiful, you alone?โ
I eyed them warily, ready to walk away, but one of them stopped me. โCome join us! Itโs way more fun than being alone.โ
Seeing the friendly look in his eyes, I thought, why not? I was bored, and it would be better than being by myself. So, I agreed to join them.
Hayleyโs POV:
With Christine having Christopher by her side, I felt relieved and continued skiing with Benjamin.
Standing high above, I gazed down at the snow-covered landscapeโit was breathtaking.
โI could stay here forever!โ I said, genuinely enjoying the moment. Benjamin noticed my good mood and smiled. โIf you like it, we can stay a few more days.โ
I smiled back, but just as I was about to reply, the ground beneath me suddenly began to tremble.
โWhatโs happening? Why is the ground shaking?โ I asked, confused.
Before I could finish, Benjaminโs face went pale, and his expression turned serious. โItโs an avalanche!โ
Panic surged through me as visions of avalanches flooded my mind. I felt the snow beneath my feet begin to slip, and before I knew it, I lost my balance and fell forward.
Benjamin reached out and grabbed me, but then, the world seemed to erupt as the ground cracked and shook. Screams echoed in the chaosโฆ
He held me tightly as we were swept down the mountain, tumbling uncontrollably. I donโt know how much time passed, but eventually, I began to regain consciousness.

Chapter 275: Avalanche
When I tried to move my arms, which were stiff from the cold, I realized that my lower body was completely buried in the snow. And there was no sign of Benjamin beside me.
Inside me, Hera stirred, uneasy. She warned me that Benjamin might be in trouble.
The memories of what had happened rushed back to me, and a wave of fear washed over me. โBenjamin! Benjamin!โ I called, but the only response was the echo of my own voice.
At that moment, a wave of fear and panic gripped me. I shakily forced myself to get up and stumbled forward. But everything had changed after the avalancheโthe landscape was unrecognizable, and there was no one around.
I kept walking aimlessly, shouting, โIs anyone out there?โ But no matter how loud I yelled, there was no answer.
I dragged my exhausted body forward, not knowing how long Iโd been walking. Finally, I saw the rest area in the distance.
When I saw the rescue team, I rushed toward them. โPlease, help me! I still have a friend who might be buried in the snow! You have to find him, you must!โ
The rescue team, seeing my distress, tried to calm me down. โDonโt worry, weโll do everything we can.โ They settled me down and split into two teams, heading up the mountain to search.
My heart was in my throat, and I cursed myself for ever agreeing to come skiing. I stared at the endless white of the snow-covered mountain, my eyes watering. I silently prayed, wishing for Benjaminโs safe return.
Days passed, but there was still no word from Benjamin. I refused to leave the mountain. I watched as the rescue teams brought out survivors from the snow, but most of them had no signs of life.
Days went by, and still, there was no sign of all three of them. I thought of asking Hera for help, hoping she could sense Benjamin. After all, werenโt we destined to be together by the Moon Goddess? Surely, I could find him.
But Hera, defeated, told me she couldnโt smell Benjaminโs scent or feel his presence. For the first time, I felt utterly powerless as an alpha. I had so many skills, yet none of them could save the man I loved. I stood in silence, overwhelmed with despair.
