Chapter 243: Joining the Competition

Benjaminโ€™s POV:

I shifted my gaze away and said, โ€œNo, letโ€™s head back to the office. Weโ€™ll send supplies to the orphanage under the companyโ€™s name another day.โ€

โ€œYes, Alpha,โ€ came the response.

I signaled the driver to start the car, and we drove away.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

When I was playing with the children, I looked up and saw the tail end of a car disappearing in the distance. I didnโ€™t give it much thought and continued to enjoy my time with the kids. Willow, seeing how much fun I was having, smiled warmly.

Later, she pulled me aside to talk about the orphanage. โ€œWinter is almost here,โ€ she said. โ€œIโ€™m worried that the orphanageโ€™s heating system wonโ€™t be enough. The kids might have a tough time this winter.โ€

Hearing this, I quickly replied, โ€œIf the heating system isnโ€™t enough, weโ€™ll buy new equipment right away. We canโ€™t let these children freeze.โ€

Willow nodded but hesitated, looking like she wanted to say something more. I noticed her hesitation and asked, โ€œWillow, if somethingโ€™s on your mind, just say it. If thereโ€™s anything I can do, Iโ€™ll help.โ€

Willow finally spoke up, her voice quiet but sincere. โ€œHayley, honestly, youโ€™ve already done so much for the orphanage. I feel guilty about asking for more, but right now, the expenses are so high that I donโ€™t have the money to replace the heating system.โ€

I took her hand in mine, reassuring her. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll ensure the orphanage gets a new heating system before winter arrives.โ€

Willowโ€™s eyes welled up with tears. She said, โ€œHayley, I donโ€™t know how to thank you. Youโ€™re doing so much for these kids. On their behalf, I want to say thank you.โ€

โ€œWillow, thereโ€™s no need to thank me. When I ran away from home as a child, if you hadnโ€™t taken me in, I might have ended up out there, harmed by the rogues. Now that Iโ€™m the Alpha of the Shadow Pack, I want to do what I can to help you.โ€ I comforted her.

Chapter 243: Joining the Competition

After leaving the orphanage, I returned to Southwell Residence and checked my credit cards. I glanced at the balance, which amounted to tens of thousands of dollars. It wouldnโ€™t be enough to replace the heating system.

My eyes fell on the black card George had given me. After considering it for a moment, I decided to ignore it and tucked it away along with the others.

Looks like Iโ€™ll need to find a way to earn some moneyโ€”at least enough to buy new heating equipment before winter arrives. Then I remembered what Thomas had told me about the racing competition organized by the National Racing Association. The grand prize was ten million dollars.

That caught my attention. I would solve all my problems if I could win that money. I quickly called Thomas and said, โ€œSend me all the details about the racing competition you mentioned.โ€

Thomas, surprised that I was interested, excitedly asked, โ€œAlpha, are you planning on entering the competition?โ€

I confirmed it. Thomas responded immediately, โ€œGreat! Iโ€™ll send the information to your email right away.โ€

Less than three minutes after hanging up, a new email appeared in my inbox. I opened it quickly and looked through the details of the competition. The race was simple. The participants would compete in three rounds, and the winner would receive a ten-million-dollar cash prize.

However, my attention wasnโ€™t fixed on the prize. Instead, a name at the bottom of the list of invited participantsโ€”Benjaminโ€”drew my attention.

Wait, heโ€™s entering the competition too?

Shocked, I asked Thomas, โ€œWhatโ€™s going on with this Benjamin?โ€
