Chapter 233: Destroying Christopher
Christineโs POV:
I have no idea who started the rumors about me and Christopher. Since this incident went viral online, Iโm unsure which media outlet chose to expose my school. In no time at all, reporters surrounded the school, blocking every entrance. They were all eager to get firsthand information from me. I had never experienced anything like this before. The online insults alone were driving me to the brink.
I grabbed Hayley, tears streaming down my face, and cried out, โWhat should I do? Why are these people spreading such lies online? Nothing happened between us, but these ruthless reporters are twisting everything!โ
โHayley, what should I do? How can they hurt my hubby like this?โ
Even now, my greatest worry wasnโt about myself, but about Christopher. As I scrolled through the comments online, all I could think about was him.
Hayley tried to calm me down, saying, โItโs okay, Christine. This will all blow over, but before that, you need to change the way youโre referring to him. If someone hears you calling him that, it could be twisted into something else.โ
I quickly covered my mouth, wiping my tears as I looked at Hayley. โWhat should I do now, Hayley? I canโt just stand by and watch as they ruin my dearโฆ Christopher.โ
Hayley pressed her lips together and said firmly, โThereโs only one thing you can do nowโclarify this matter yourself.โ
โBut I have a feeling this isnโt just a simple leak of information. Thereโs someone behind this trying to destroy Christopher.โ
โWhat?!โ I was stunned.
โT-thisโฆโ I stammered, struggling to say anything coherent.
โDonโt worry,โ Hayley reassured me, her voice calm but firm, โThe truth will always come to light, and lies will eventually be exposed.โ
Though we were both Omegas, I had always admired Hayleyโs abilities. It felt like there was nothing she couldnโt solve. Her words gave me some strength. No matter what, I had to step up and set things right. I had to clear Christopherโs name.
Christopherโs POV:
I frowned as I looked at the comments online, my anger boiling just beneath the surface. Caesar, seeing my frustration, said with concern, โChristopher, stop looking at that. Weโve already initiated a crisis management plan. The impact of the situation is huge. We need to clarify the truth, or this will damage your image and your future in the entertainment industry,โ he added.
I knew all that already. But right now, there was something more important. I gave him an order, โSend someone to the school to protect Christine. We canโt let anyone harass her.โ
โAt a time like this, youโre still thinking about her? Focus on yourself!โ Caesar snapped.
I put my phone away and looked up at him. โA clear conscience needs no defense. If I didnโt do anything wrong, then thereโs nothing to hide.โ
Caesar was frustrated. โI get it. But the public doesnโt believe that. The current public opinion is against us.โ
I stood up and adjusted my jacket. โLetโs go.โ
Caesar looked confused. โWhere are we going?โ
โTo fix this,โ I explained.
When I stepped out of the company building, reporters swarmed the entrance.
โMr. Christopher, is it true that you had an inappropriate relationship with that underage girl and pressured her into an abortion?โ
โAre you planning to abandon her after everything youโve done?โ
โMr. Christopher, will you be leaving the entertainment industry?โ
I stopped in my tracks, not avoiding the cameras. I looked straight into the lens and spoke clearly, one word at a timeโ
