Chapter 825

Teresa said, "If it wasn't you, then who else could it be? In Nareigh, who else would block every path I have? I kicked you out of my house."

"I know you're mad at me, but you actually teamed up with your mom to take me down? Jonathan, your mom never liked me, fine, but how could you do this to me, too?"

She grabbed her bag and hurled it at him with all her strength. She kept hitting him again and again, but Jonathan didn't fight back. He just caught her wrist to stop her.

He was completely at a loss, having no idea how her company suddenly ended up in such a mess and how it had anything to do with his mom.

Jonathan tried to comfort her, gently wiping away her tears. "Don't cry, okay? Let's go home and talk things through, shall we?"

Teresa took a deep breath. "There's nothing left to talk about between us. Tomorrow, I'm taking Mike and leaving for good!"

"Alright, stop it!" Jonathan held her arm tightly, for fear that she might actually run away.

He said, "Can you stop threatening me with the kid every time you get mad? Let's just go home and talk, alright?"

As he turned around, he saw those big shots from earlier coming over, looking puzzled.

"Mr. Lynn, who's this beautiful lady?" one of them asked.

Their eyes were glued to Teresaโ€”her big, tearful eyes, delicate features, fair and radiant skin, and the obvious baby bump.

Noticing the way the men were staring at Teresa, Jonathan pulled her close by the waist and frowned. "This is my wife. Sorry for the scene."

The crowd started whispering among themselves, "Wait, Jonathan's actually married?"

Teresa hurried to explain, "You've got it wrong, I'm not-" Her words were cut off.

Before she could finish, Jonathan had already swept her up into his arms, not caring about anything else.

Then he turned to those businessmen and said, "I'm going home late tonight, so my wife is mad at me. I have to go home to please her now."

With that, he swiftly carried Teresa to the car and drove off.

Those businessmen were all stunned.

"Jonathan always acts so aloof with us, but who wouldโ€™ve thought his wife has him totally under her thumb?"

"Guess there's always someone who can keep one in check."

Inside the car, Jonathan buckled Teresa's seatbelt and let out a sigh. "You're really a handful, aren't you? If you're here to blame me, at least let me know what I'm being blamed for, okay?"

Teresa smacked his shoulder. "I'm not here to pick a fight. I'm here to apologize. I messed up!"

Jonathan suddenly burst out laughing speechlessly. He thought, 'Who would apologize while hitting the other party?'

When the traffic light turned red, he raised one hand in surrender. "Alright, alright, it's my fault, not yours. Satisfied?"

"So what exactly did you do wrong?" Teresa pressed.

"My mistake is that I have no idea what my mistake even is," Jonathan said.

Once she finally stopped hitting him, Jonathan asked, "Can you tell me what exactly did I do to make you come all this way while pregnant just to see me? Where's Mike? Did he come with you?"

"I came by myself. Mike is at home. If I didn't come to see you, my company is gonna collapse," Teresa said. She then filled Jonathan in on everything that had happened.

Jonathan frowned a little. "So you really think I'm the one who sabotaged you? In your eyes, am I really the kind of guy who'd take things out on his wife and kid just because we had a disagreement?"

Teresa calmed down and explained, "The reason I suspected you is because we had just fought, and then something happened to my company that very night. I couldn't help but overthink it."

"Alright," Jonathan said word by word, "I'm telling you now, it wasn't me. I had nothing to do with it. I didn't know anything about this. Do you believe me?"
