Chapter 15

Emma looked down at Aria condescendingly, noticing her panic. As Aria was carried away on a stretcher, Emma leaned in and whispered, "Your blood bag has way too much blood in it. It's impossible for a pregnancy in the early stages to bleed so much, so fast. Common sense, Aria. How are you going to win against me like this?"

Aria's eyes widened.

Emma sneered. "Go ahead. When you get to the hospital, everyone will know your lie, and it'll be too late to regret it. Our game has just begun, Aria."

Aria glared at Emma, hatred blazing in her eyes. "It's you! You did everything!" She had thought she'd framed Emma, but she hadn't known Emma had set her up.

"Yes, it was my plot," Emma replied.

"You bitch!" Aria wanted to struggle, but doing so would admit everything. She was carried into the ambulance, desperate.

Liam rushed to the hotel after learning Emma was in trouble at the engagement party. He and Levi sped in the black Bentley. As Levi was about to pull up, he received a call. After hanging up, he said excitedly, "Mr. Hall, big news!"

Liam frowned. "What is it?"

"It's Grail," Levi said, his voice buoyant. "Headquarters called. They've located her. She's southeast of Troln City. Three days ago, she posted a message on the dark web seeking information, but her trail was hidden when our people locked onto her signal! Just now, the signal reappeared! Should we go, Mr. Hall?"

Liam was shocked. Grail was considered the world's most exceptional and mysterious doctor. Rumor had it she treated the most complicated diseases, choosing patients randomly on the dark web. No one knew who she was. Liam had spent years searching for her, to no avail. And now Levi had just learned she was in Troln City.

"We can still make it, Mr. Hall," Levi said, pulling up and about to turn back.

But Liam frowned and firmly said, "No."

Levi was puzzled. "But why?"

"Get out of the car. We're going to the engagement party," Liam answered. Emma was there.

Levi understood immediately, saying nervously, "We've been after Grail for years, Mr. Hall. Are you sure you want to give up this chance? Miss Wilson's situation isn't something that happens every day. Is she that important to you?"

Emma's importance wasn't in question, but Levi knew how much this news meant to Liam.

But Liam didn't hesitate. "I said, get out of the car."

When Liam exited the car, he saw Aria being carried away on a stretcher. He hurried toward the hall; Emma was in trouble again.

Mateo witnessed Aria's removal, her life hanging in the balance, his own plans crumbling. He tried to salvage the situation, walking forward and slapping Emma's face. He shouted, anguished, "I know you're not close to us, but I didn't expect you to be so vicious. You even harmed your sister's child. You deserve to go to hell, just like your mother!"

Mateo's words shattered Emma's heart. Her eyes reddened, and she reached to pinch her palm. "My mother married you when she was only nineteen. She gave you everything, loved you without complaint. I hope your conscience doesn't eat you alive."

"Emma, what are you talking about? Your mother killed herself. Aria is your sister. She and her baby could both die because of you. Even if she doesn't die, her life is ruined. You're a monster," Zoe said, her anger nearly overwhelming her.

The crowd couldn't bear to listen any longer, yelling at Emma. "It doesn't matter whose baby it is. You can't push a pregnant woman. That's the bottom line."

"Right. And you've ruined their engagement party. Disgusting!"

"She's so evil. I bet her mother was, too."

"Screw her! It's better that she killed herself!"

In that moment, Emma felt everyone's hatred. The insults didn't bother her as much as the attacks on her mother. She bit her lip until it almost bled, straightening her spine to appear strong.

Someone pulled out their phone, aiming to film Emma. "Why would the Hall family want a vicious woman like her? I'm posting this online. Let people judge her."

"Right. Let the Hall family see this and throw her out."

"I dare you!" A low voice cut through the noise from the doorway. Everyone turned silent, looking towards the entrance. Liam, in a wheelchair, was dressed in a suit and leather shoes. His face was cold and stern, his presence oppressive.

The person filming resentfully lowered their phone under Liam's cold gaze. Liam navigated the crowd in his wheelchair, slowly approaching Emma. Emma met his gaze impassively as he used his large hand to take hers. "Sorry I'm late," he said, his tone surprisingly soft and tender, a stark contrast to his usual untouchable demeanor.

"Mr. Hall, this evil woman just got her sister's baby killed. Don't be fooled by her."

"That's right. She's no match for you."

"Bitch! Liam Hall will never love a woman like you. Wait until you get dumped," Madeline spat viciously.

The crowd verbally abused Emma, expecting Liam to join them and abandon her. But Liam simply looked at her calmly, defying their expectations. He pulled a luxurious jewel box from his pocket. With a snap, he opened it, revealing a giant pink diamond. It was the only pink diamond in the world. The crowd, and Emma, were stunned. She stared blankly at the diamond.

Liam looked at her, his voice deep and firm. "Emma, will you marry me?"
